Late January and February Medium/Long Range Discussion

This is definitely a pretty textbook look for icing in the OV stretching eastward to the MA, as @MillvilleWx just mentioned.- 4,130 replies

You've been harping on the front alignment, and you can't hate what the GFS is doing. IF, and its a big if, it continues moving like it has the last 4-5 runs, there is definitely the potential to get some snow in the party with this one. Parts of the precip are falling into low-mid 20's air, would be a really nasty icing event verbatim. A 1-2 punch would help the snow piece.- 4,130 replies

Kentucky has had a few big ones, I remember the one in the early 2010's that was insane there. Crippled them.- 4,130 replies

This would be a nasty run verbatim for a good chunk of folks. Maybe it can just keep going SE to get us more in the snow vs icing. 2 pretty noticeable shifts in 2 suites. Icon was icy as well for the NW crew.- 4,130 replies

As much as I had first attempt sledding down the neighborhood road this morning, any 1-2” event is just as welcomed as a warning + level one- 4,130 replies

January 28-29 2022 Miller abcdefu Storm Obs/Discussion
DDweatherman replied to mappy's topic in Mid Atlantic
Well, because we did end up getting around two inches or a bit more up where I live last night, I got a bright idea. Our roads are always snow covered longer than most after it snows, so what better to do than try taking my two year old daughters sled for a ride. Let’s just say it was probably a near quarter mile ride that took 2/3 minutes and I was flying down the road. Video footage was obtained. My wife didn’t realize I was serious when I told her so she drove me back to the top and watched… safe to say she needed a ride after seeing that. @nw baltimore wx and I hadn’t even been drinking beers -

Enjoying a red headed stepchild courtesy of @Scraff as the snow continues up here. Can’t see liberty at the moment, snow is pretty steady. Getting a bit of enhancement off the mountain here -

Actually doing pretty well here, and roads are a mess. Steady snow coming down. South mountain enhancement? -

Yeah, real slick up this way. The roads are a coated with snow that froze up after the snow we had earlier in the day melted. Been a steady light snow for the past few hours.
