  1. Absolutely poundtown snowing here. If this band was to solidify a bit more and stall over us, we could get quite the snow dump.
  2. Well that didn't last long. Did the usual form and move north...always gets pushed north....
  3. For real! Almost has a lake-enhanced look to it on radar.
  4. Heavy snow in North Cuse burbs and covering everything up.
  5. Yep. That dewpoint hitting 40 last night really hit the pack. It held on for a week and then overnight, of course, ate it. Still mostly covered here...but grass can be seen in the normal places that melt first.
  6. Looks like the large Oneida ice cube is keeping you chilled a bit more.
  7. My brother and his wife live in the Pottsville/Orwigsburg area. That area could easily fall under CTP, PHL, or NYC forums.
  8. The Mid-Atlantic forum is the most unfriendly, exclusive one of this whole forum. We in the Upstate NY forum often joke and chuckle about their winter demise...mostly because they're just so ugly.
  9. Dry air when the cold air is here?? Never experienced that before... I am thinking the 40 mph winds tomorrow will also ruin good snow development...or blow it the whole way to north BGM and the Catskills again.
  10. I'll take this...looks like a triple lake connection...
  11. Yeah, I can see that a bit here as well. Then the woods across from my window look like they still have over a foot in them. Definitely varied snow amounts...but mostly solid snowcover. Unlike others on here, I'm all about keeping it as long as possible. The warm season will be here soon enough for months and months.
  12. This weekend has done quite some damage to our snowpack, but I am thinking we'll have a solid snowcover (in most places) for another week. Wednesday could make another hit at it...but from eyeballing things, I am guessing there's still a 6 inch snowpack on average? Deeper in a lot of places, but there are a few thin spots showing up where the snow blew away and the southern exposed knolls along roads.
  13. Yeah. The -NAO has actually not been our friend this season either. It's looking to mess up the end of the week for us.
  14. It would be nice if we could break this winter's pattern of potential and ................................................ nothing.
  15. Perhaps the hundreds and hundreds of miles north shift within 48 hours could help us here? Naaaaaah.
  16. If that happens....then we'll have to endure the "weather ignorants" chatting about "Oh my goooodness. This was such an awful winter. Tho much sthnoooow. I barely made it out alive."
  17. Thanks for the response! I grew up right where the ridges and valleys start right off of Millwood Rd. Graduated from Penn Manor - There were several times where our end was getting pounded with snow but Penn Manor wouldn't close because up on the northern tip in Millersville there was nothing. Beautiful views! Southern Lancaster County is a hidden secret/treasure...although there are some very "off" and backwards thinking people that live there. But, my love for nature surely started from growing up there.
  18. Not as much LES this season. More storms rolling through and less northwesterly winds than usual off the lakes. The less NW winds KILLED our winter here in the Syracuse area. Not much LES and the storm track was over PA much of the winter. Really boring compared to normal in these parts.
  19. Throw your butt into Virtual Jail for virtual contempt of court, son!
  20. You got scolded by the judge? Good thing it wasn't Judge Judy...
  21. As met winter ends this weekend, all I've got to say is Good Riddance to one extremely boring winter for Northern Onondaga county. Time to move onto brown lawns and convective snow showers for the next two months.
  22. Lounge by the pool, sipping your drink in the 90 degree heat....and watch them do it right!
  23. I grew up in Southern Lancaster County (Pequea township) and that area has its own microclimate as well. It's actually quite fascinating. Many hills with elevations between 500 and 900 feet in the Southern End of the county. WGAL will post maps with them getting the lowest amounts just because they're farther south....but most people don't realize that there are often some jackpots in snowfall down there (particularly the Mt. Nebo/Martic Township area). I even remember several occasions each winter where I would have snow on the top of my hill and go a couple hundred feet lower to find they maybe had a dusting or nothing. And wind? That's a whole different story....other than WINDY during storms. I still have never lived somewhere that has the thunderstorms Solanco has. It really is quite the microclimate.
  24. Hm, interesting. She definitely had fresh snow on the car. Said it stopped halfway on her way to Fulton. Maybe an immediate lakeshore thing? The sunset tonight was gorgeous. I was working late at work and got some nice pictures from my work windows.
