  1. Full weenie credit for driving in those conditions too chase the SN+.
  2. A rare storm where I outperformed you.
  3. Did about a mile walk, wild night. Good storm, 8.5" so far. Already hit my high expectations so gravy. Radar still looks decent. 26/24 SN
  4. Just to be clear, it pisses rain and pukes snow. Gotta ride the proper vernacular.
  5. Total snowfall yes, intensity no. I was only 10 for the 78 storm so not as dialed in. 2005 had multiple reports out of Cambridge and Somerville of 30" + 78 had bigger drifts though.
  6. I just assumed variation on the nutscape idea.
  7. I was wondering about that. It's so windy aloft that radar holes do not translate to exact location.
  8. Although I was in Cambridge for 78 and April 97 January 2005 might have been my all time favorite. 32"+ in Inman Sq. 5' drifts Cars were unidentifiable in the street.
  9. I'm not used to windy snow storms here. Really storming out. May need to suit up for another walk sans pooch. Radar looks like a few more hours of decent rates.
  10. Over 6” now with +SN occasionally flipping to arctic sand. Roads are in great shape. I guess Greenfield no longer plows during storms.
  11. Over 4" now. I'll measure while I walk doggo. Coming down good.
  12. Shocking, N ORH Co is going to be the jackpot in MA. edit: maybe not, impressive totals down towards @ineedsnow
  13. Finally ripping those nickel sized flakes. Stacking nicely. Closing on 4".
  14. Look on the bright side, dense snow has good staying power.
  15. Damn, glad the CT peeps are getting smoked! Glad @WinterWolf and @RUNNAWAYICEBERG are getting their storm they have been waiting for!
  16. There are more than a few subby zones with this one. The radar has been awesome over my head but I have had confectionery sugar falling 70% of the time. It pours good dendrites for a few minutes, then I hear a good wind gust 1000' up and I go right back to arctic fog snow. At 25F this type of snow also makes the roads super slick.
  17. I'll learn to read the fine print someday.
  18. So they are expecting that much more going forward from the map's time stamp? I always just assumed those maps were storm totals.
  19. I'm sitting in that chocking arctic fog type snow with intermittent bursts of good growth. It's a little annoying because if it continues this way all night my accumulation will be relatively low but it will heavy to shovel/blow. 2.5" of baking powder in the driveway currently. Life in the Pioneer Valley. Damn sure better than rain tho'
  20. This is my point and click: This Afternoon Snow showers. High near 27. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible. Tonight Snow showers, mainly before 4am. Low around 25. North wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. I'm not sure what's going on there. The radar would need to completely dry up soon if that forecast is going to verify. They have me at 4" total and I'm already over 2".
  21. Moderate snow with decent growth here, radar looks good.
  22. See, sometimes whining works, just flipped to moderate with much better growth. Ground truth catching up to radar.
