I’ve made it to Vermont. Decided to ride at Pico today instead of sugarbush as conditions are pretty uninspiring and tickets were 100 dollars cheaper. Mesos seem to put me in a sweet spot tomorrow afternoon. Looks like it’ll be a wild day.

Gore is fun.
Probably my favorite mountain on the whole east coast when they have the snow. The glades are incredible.

Watch 0z shift west. Lol.
I expect a little rain sat morning. But I’m going up tomorrow so I can get a solid day in before the storm. If sat is washout that’s the way it goes and I might hit Gore on Sunday.

Alright, I'm pushing off for Vermont at 4am tomorrow morning/tonight. Still riding the hairy edge of that rain snow line, but that's typically where you want to be. I'm hoping some elevation also helps out. Good luck to everyone with what will likely be the last "big one" of this winter.

Another December 2020 brewing?
Polar opposite storm. Insane blocking that damn nearly had it stationary for 12 hours.

Hopefully the east trend continues. I am going to be going skiing on Saturday. While fresh snow at Bristol would be nice, do not want to drive in the snow.
Wow. You’d rather ski hard pack ice than powder, and miss an awesome storm solely because you don’t want to drive in a little snow. What in the world is going on here. Move to florida. Haha

Mesos tell me to stay put. Globals tell me to get on the road. This is maddening.

At least one person on this forum is feeling ok with this trend, but I do feel guilty.

Hey B dubs, did you see this article? Reminded me of when you had your incident last year, or two years ago. That pre workout stuff is dangerous... This poor guy really screwed up though...

I'm stressed out man! I would have rather just had a boring ass weekend with no weather to worry about as this is the last real trip of the year.

If I was you as of this early juncture I’d be headed to Vermont for this one, looks like a super safe bet unless your in far southern VT. Should be more wind and whiteouts there as well with the low rapidly deepening as it moves north closer to you.
This is kind of my thought. I'm riding Friday at Sugarbush and Saturday at Killington. Worst case scenario is we get rain most of Saturday (I'd bail on snowboarding) but a rapid changeover late day and then some "storm chasing" and fun obs Sat night into Sunday morning to somewhat make up for it. And the best case scenario would be a wild powder day on Saturday and an amazing trip overall.

The 12z Canadian is a decent hit for both Upstate and Vermont. Would love to lock that in!

One of the best ever!! We nearly did it again on Sunday but the parent low just wasn't deep enough.

The Euro is very positively tilted. Yuk. Really hoping for a big one. When does the energy get onshore?
The ingredients are already onshore so I wouldn't expect massive changes going forward. Seems like the ensembles are for a later further East phase. The trough is slightly positive or neutral as it crosses the Eastern Great Lakes. Not the best for us....perhaps my Vermont trip still has some life in it!

138 hours is fantasy especially on the gfs.
I disagree. There will certainly be a powerful east coast storm this weekend so it’s not just some over amplified solution at hour 288 that completely disappears on the next run never to be seen again. This storm is well within range of the models. It obviously won’t be that deep but the ingredients for a big one are all there.

Holy shit, a 937mb low at hour 138, that isnt even completely fantasy land. This could be a massive storm.

That is a tough one. Wait until the very last second to get more model runs in.
I actually am very fortunate to have the luxury of doing this. A group of friends from Boston are renting a house up there and I'm just a late add on that can either come or go (Doesn't change anything either way). I'll be making a game time decision Wed/Thurs.

I'm supposed to be in Vermont this weekend, do I cancel the trip and stay here to ride local? Tough decisions needed in very short order.

Crazy the negative impact the cold lake had in Buffalo. Been down on the water front since 230 and nothing more than breeze 10-15mph tops. Packed down here everyone out enjoying the sun.
Rochester came in with their 7th highest gust in history today. 71mph at 1:20.

If only this storm was a touch stronger or still deepening and this would have been a very significant event. So close! Still a great day for a wind lover.

Well they definitely need the snow. This was a little side shoot that services ski in and ski out houses (only had natural snow). Not our best choice. Haha.
