Storm Tracker 4 is possibly the best free live Doppler radar in the region. Great to track the squall line.

Here’s something for you guys on the island and the city to ponder. I know that there have been reports of sleet in many areas out there. I have a station right on Fire Island. Temp / Dew is 33/29 now with a light East wind. No sign of any warm air rushing in off the ocean so you may hold on to the frozen precip mix for a little longer than you might think.
That’s great info thanks.
Does your station have a website?

I can imagine the kids excitement to build it up! My kids pretty much made me put it up in November.
Have fun!

If you were on the roads you would definitely remember. They were a disaster across the metro area. The snow came down hard and caused chaos and many roads were untreated. Many people were stranded for hours.
I don't remember much about that storm. I was probably working until late from home. I am reading now that NYC was paralyzed pretty much.

Since the November 15th debacle of last year , NYC has been salting and sanding the roads to death every time there’s is chance for a flurry . Bad for the cars bad for the roads .
Refresh my memory. I remember getting a few inches last November, but what was the debacle part?

I believe this thread is missing the "OBSERVATION" wording in the title. It seems we have two discussion threads for the same storm.

I know no one cares cause it's not snow but the euro shows close to 4" precip round the metro next week to ten days...also couple inches front end snow with early week system...followed by some very cold temps...but carry on, nothing to see here.
We do care about non snow events. The forum is pretty active in the summer.
For me I care about extreme weather events. In the summer I am discussing thunderstorms and tornadoes. In the winter I mainly hope for Blizzards. So maybe that's why folks right now are not too interested in non snow events since that's what we discuss most months. The next 2-3 months is our best chance for that epic Blizzard.

Why did I have to be born in NYC?
Horrible winter climate
I don’t mind. In my opinion I believe having such a dynamic climate makes it less boring. It’s not often but we get blizzards, hurricanes, tornadoes.

Really hoping the pattern is not rain followed by freezing cold followed by rain and so on and on.
rather not have any snow than teens temperatures for days followed by a rainstorm

Details are anybody's guess but there has been a pretty good signal for a storm around the 13th-15th. 00z Euro looks ready to bomb the heck out of the thing at 216.
That storm looks great.

Before I edited my comment I said “next Sunday” when it’s actually this coming Sunday. I am tired and thought today was Sunday.
