It’s so hard to say goodbye to January
And I'll take
With me the memories
To be my sunshine after the snow

^Just to stretch the analogy, we need it to be a double power play 5 on 3, because of major penalties so we can score as many goals in that time and keep the advantage on the ice as well.
Maybe if the other team forgets to show altogether we can score?

Congrats. I rode round 15 miles of my area never saw a flake. I’m out
Bet I could ride 100 miles in my area and not see one!

Wow guys I'm just so deflated. I understand that snow is hard to come by in the upstate, and even harder for the rest of SC, but i usually see something . It just refuses to snow in SC this year. Us and FL are the only states to not see any accumulation this year (not counting the state line areas over 2500 ft). The most frozen I've seen so far was the 5 minutes of hail last night. This just stinks.

Temp really starting to rise here. Was 49 at 11:30, now up to 51.5. Still overcast. I noticed its 66 just down the road in Anderson.

Gonna be wild if this is the system that ends the drought for CAE! Could happen in a bit per radar.

I'm gun shy after this 4-8 turned in to 1/2 inch
Man it's really too bad that 1028 got pushed out. Pretty sure that was the 1030 in PA. I haven't looked but I am guessing there was no 50/50 low to help anchor it in place. If that high would just hold on in PA this could have been beautiful.

Well my area is just awful for snow. Looks like the band to our east is getting it's act together, so congrats to them, but nothing for my area. I did not see a single flake from this, and not even any sleet that I saw. I am not surprised btw, it's what I expected, but still disappointed; there was still that hope of a surprise. Next week is a repeat for me, so maybe after mid month there will be a shot (there's that hope again)?

Down to 35 at my place, have yet to see the first flake. Congrats to all those seeing it. Maybe next time for me.

NAM finally in range for Monday's system (take with a grain of salt because it is the long range NAM). GFS is still much flatter with the h5 vort with little northern stream interaction.
LA/TN/MS/AL could score in the morning hours (if the NAM is correct) but that warm air advection ahead of the surface low + daytime heating is going to be a killer combo for the piedmont with no good source of cold air.
Still time with this one though
Man that looks rock solid for us. Snow down to middle MS and AL, just right there, and a high in PA. How does that not track east and get us? This is crazy stuff.

Wyff radar says it's snowing over Easley right now, including my neighborhood but I don't see the first flake, or even sleet. Just 36.7 degree rain. And it's about to dry slot anyway.

Well sh@t it looks like nw sc is screwed for this one. Monday ain't looking so great either now. And they said 2021 was gonna be better...f*@k whoever "they" are!
Yeah, this one is a no go for us. Maybe next week, oh wait, that one's gone too.

Yeah, except full sun now, already into the low 40s
Clouds decided to come back in now, of course in the middle of the afternoon. 44.

240hr depiction on today's GFS run is a thing of beauty. Ridging out west, west-based greenland block.. stationary arctic blocking... Second half of January looks good.
I appreciate your optimism burrel! I have become to cynical I guess.

Then hopefully that will help keep temps from climbing into unmanageable territory.

just when I thought I was out, the hi res nam sucks me back in! Feel confident on at least seeing some moderate snow here Friday morning.
Don't fall for it Burrel! Save your sanity, you know how this plays out; hwy 11 north = some snow, state line north = buried, us ... = rain pain!

It’s the whiners thread. I live in the worst place for snow in NC. Rockingham. We always find ways, miss mostly north and west, then we miss East on coastal storms, then southern sliders to the south. I know I whine I whine lol
Exactly, this is the venting thread after all!

People here in the upstate (outside the forum) are starting to talk about getting snow. I'm not going to be the one to tell them it's not happening. Winter stinks out loud here.

Well....I got my heart broken last Friday night so I am due a better Friday this week.
I don't know man, you guys have had PLENTY of fun over the past few years, need to let some others experience it for a change. Like maybe my Gamecocks...
Kinda like how the mtns need to share their snow with the rest of us!

Just wish there was a lot colder air in place.
Yeah me too. Plenty of QPF for a good hit for many but cold is too marginal. Western half of NC looks great. For my area, especially western upstate, cold just isn't there for much, maybe a little sleety slop.
