Are we about to have a July 2016 repeat?

NWS now showing 97 in the forecast for GSP next week, triple digits for CAE - ouch!

Laugh out loud. In my experience, they'd be brown by the time you got them home anyway.

Yeah we'll see about the rain. I'm in the 7-10 inch band on one run I saw; hope I dont get that much. With snow, I'm kinda in that western upstate snow hole, oconee and pickens counties that get skipped a lot due to down slope drying and coastal transfers; BUT, I'm just far enough east to usually get something. Last year I got three inches (of mostly sleet) from the December storm, and that was it for the whole season. Got two snows the year before but only 2-3 inches each.

It is indeed amazing how different the weather can be in different parts of the state. I guess you guys have been in a rain drought AND a snow drought! Well we suck at snow too, but have at least seen a little.

Lol, I love neither and I hate the heat! But the fact is I had around 100 inches of rain over the past 18 months so having three weeks of dry weather has been a very welcome break for me. Now I hated the hot weather, but it was almost worth it to have some time without constant rain. It's funny, I feel like some people want several inches of rain every day or their not happy... BTW, what is your location? I understand the lower part of the state has been much drier this year than my area.

I've really enjoyed the dry weather the past three weeks or so; a MUCH needed break for my area. Now I guess it's back to endless rain? We need a happy medium!

Hard to believe the heat we are looking at for May this weekend! GSP has not hit 90 yet but will do so easily on Friday if not before. GSP has not been higher than 96 since July 25th 2016, but could well surpass that ere the month is out! Not looking forward to this AT ALL! I remember one year back in the mid 90s when a May heat wave reached the mid 90s and ended up being the hottest weather all summer. Would be nice if that happened again here, but something tells me this is gonna be another 2016, 2012, 1993 type of summer.

Accuweather gets you out to August 12th , gives me an 87 that day.

Boy, REALLY hope TWC is overdoing this heat for late next week, mid 90s gonna be torture!

Pretty crazy, 28.5 here, and that following one of the wettest years on record.

Haven't checked weather in a few days but WOW, looks awesome early next week. Some 40s coming for mid May, I'll take it every time.

Looking summer like the rest of the week. Low 90s for CAE!

Wow! BTW, just noticed NWS point forecast shows a chance of snow mixed in all the way down to the NC/SC border including Caeser's Head, Sassafras, etc. Shows Mt Mitchell at 5800 ft level getting 5-7 inches of snow.

I'm so jealous of you guys, feels like we never had a winter here in the upstate and now we're looking at temps 10-15 above normal for the forseeable future after a "coolish" Sat. Been nice the past few days and mornings but the heat is coming.

Well not seeing much good news on the horizon. One day of a wedge on Saturday and then it looks to be an early summer type pattern for the forseeable future with temps around 82/60 for the upstate, or about 10-15 degrees above average! Would love to have a longer cooler spring, maybe keep some 70s/50s for a few weeks but not in the cards. Oh well, at least Accuweather doesn't have me hitting 90 until June 21st!

Welp; heat, humidity, weeds, skeeters already EVERYWHERE in my neighborhood at least, pollen, allergies, bees, bugs, already mowed my front twice and dandelions everywhere, back yard looks like a jungle of twisted weeds and onion patches, Argentine Ants in the house; I'm already sick of it! I wish I could just repeat October through March weather every year and never have April through September weather!

Wow, didn't realize they had that many big gaps; so for the most part their average really is just one system every few years. Yeah for the upstate it's getting harder and harder and warmer and warmer. Who knows, we may be headed for CAE winters pretty soon.

What we needed was for the Sun night/Mon system low to track further South; that is the storm with the moisture. But the snow is in Kentucky and the Virginias, with the low track through SC. Needed it 300 miles further south, but that's been the story ALL winter. The Tues system isn't even close and has no moisture with it.
