Pretty unusual for this time of year. KGON is warmer than KIJD at this time in the day. 83 vs 81. Nice north wind keeping it warm at GON.
Ledge Light in the mouth of the Thames River is only 66.

Well this is no way to run a 90 degree humid day. 61 at KGON and 57 KIJD at 1pm. The current 70 degree NWS forecast might even fail at this rate.

Nice call Wiz.

Don't really care about snow. Was just hoping it might get cold enough to kill off the current black fly population. Unfortunately latest trends don't seem to get there.

2nd batch of heavy rain today. 48 degrees.

Day is dawning with some sun/breaks in CT. Looks like we 70 today . No rain overnight. What was being advertised as rainy week has been almost totally dry south of pike other than Sunday night/ early Mon. SE ridge won’t be denied. Gives us nice day today before late day door and a nice Saturday and next week.
Drizzle/mist down here all night and no sun in sight.

Wow...I figured I'd only get a half in of slush. Have a 1/4" of frozen crust with 2.5" of powder on top; down here close to the shore. Still snowing lightly.

Couple of rumbles of thunder with that little cell that popped in SE CT.

Send me or tag me your totals in CT paaleez!
8" total. A decent amount of compaction with the sleet we had.

That ain’t how it works. Warnings are issued based on confidence not current weather. Only in rare circumstances are we allowed to hold watches into the last 12 hours before snow starts.
Thanks much for the explanation!

Upton still has watches up for the area but ALB has warnings, think they would have hoisted by now, a couple hours from go time
They started warning down here at 1pm when we were blue skies and 40. Cirrus just starting to creep in now.

Anyone have an idea why Upton has the Winter Storm Warning in effect already for this area? Still blue sky, full sunshine and 40 degrees here. Radar is still showing precip back in PA. I could see a Watch until 6pm or so and then change to Warning.

Sun is out but it's still snowing. 3" total for here.

Very sad that messenger is no longer with us. This combined with the radar give me the feeling that this would the perfect storm for him to diagnose. There'd be arguments for pages of him telling us the storm isn't coming and everyone else talking about delusions of the radar showing northerly movement. I might be wrong, but this definitely feels and looks like it's going to be an under performer. I think she's going wide right.

F this winter. That's all i have to say, may it burn in hell with 01-02, 06-07 and 11-12.
Please send me your final snowfall totals for any locations across CT and i will post a map. Even if its a 0.4 or a Trace, any reports will be great.
Snowfall totals across the southern 4 counties were so low that OKX didn't even do a PNS for this event, so i have nothing to go on really.
.10" Sleet to freezing rain back to sleet.
