I hope this winter is a 2010-11 repeat and we all get sick of shoveling snow
That would be pretty sweet. That was a great winter down here for you guys then. I was still in No Va

If my mind serves me correctly, last year was a disaster of a winter minus the mountains. I think I had .6" of snow here all winter lol. WOOHOO Not much rain in the next week or so that D0 will be movine westward into more of the triangle. Usually we would be counting on a tropical system but that doesnt look to be happening anytime soon

Man this wind is still wild up here on Sugar Mtn. Currently 39 with a 34 dewpoint. Its chilly out there. I can hear the wind blowing against the sliding doors to the deck.

West Jefferson is starting to get a good number of trees changing already (Poplar, Birch, Elm). Maples are just starting to get a little color and oaks are still green. Same for the parkway between Boone and West Jefferson. East slope into Wilkes county where I am is still pretty much green.
We should be in business starting this weekend. I plan to go up on the 24th and stay through the 30th. That should be peak time for my location.
Thank you for the live update. We will probably be a little to early but hopefully early next week they will get cranking. Def will be in the boone-WJ stretch.

Yeah big rains last night. Very warm weather on the way and looks to stick around for a bit.
WE had a decent storm around 5 am here, but you guys have been getting hit daily up there in the hills. We will be up there next weekend for a few days.
We did finally get rain here 4.14" which is a lot since its been so dry. Keep the cooler air coming in hopefully soon up there

May have spoken a bit early . We had 2.56” overnight and still raining lightly. Looks like we were on the very low end in the county too, seeing a lot of 6”+ lollipops your direction
yeah good thing Im not a meteorologist by trade LOL. WE got 4.14" here. I was awaken around 5am with the loud thunder and lightning was vivid. I didnt see all this rain coming at that time so most of it fell between 5am and 11am. Pretty impressive. The gauge in Umstead had 5.76". Saw the flooding on Raleigh Police twitter page neat Westpark, not too far from here. Its either feast or famine with rain lol. Hope the storms didnt wake up your new born.
Now Weathertap radar shows snow in VA and northern Durham county

another 0.0" here. Most of the rain was to my south across moore county and the sandhills
Maybe tomorrow. For a forecast that had a good chance of rain everyday this week mostly, its been a big bust for some locals

0.01” more than we got or have received today at my house. Had a great storm at Rex hospital yesterday evening where I’m staying as my first child was born yesterday morning! Definitely was a good break to watch the lightning and rain from the room while my daughter napped. Needed it, zombie status today
Thats crazy with the rain. Nothing today but did rain down the Triex near Morrisville pkwy.
Congrats on your newborn. Plenty of time for you be up at night in the winter watching the 0z Euro while feeding the baby lol. But congratulations to you !!!!
