  1. Not uncommon when dynamics are weak; you can wind up with freezing drizzle as things ramp down (or don't ramp up - looking at you March 2001!).
  2. Inevitable and intractable, you just want it to stop, but you know it will leave when it's good and ready lol. Encouraged by some of the cooling trends, but realistic. I'll be happy if we are snowing during the best forcing early tomorrow afternoon.
  3. A bit NE of you, I'm thinking 10" snow before we change over, but I'm intrigued by the continued model debate over the forward progress of the warm nose/tongue/proboscis. That said, I've shoveled enough sleet in my time here to know we don't have any sort of magic shield...
  4. 00Z RRFS looks better than its 18Z run by the looks of snowfall totals, particularly in the southern 2/3 of NJ.
  5. If it has to rain on the Jersey Shore for the Lehigh Valley to get the big snows, I will forever accept it as perpetual payback for Boxing Day 2010.
  6. I was hoping to keep that BCBS a little longer but I might cave tomorrow. We'll see how early we taint up here... This KBS is from 2017. Probably well past its prime, but then again, so am I.
  7. Focus on the Light - Quadruple IPA. Need the big guns for sleet.
  8. The microwave imagery tells quite a story, including the recent transformation at ERC start. Mean little Cheerio there for a while, yikes.
  9. Temp had been steadily rising near Easton, but stalled/peaked at 31.8 and now at 31.6. Snow increasing in intensity, probably related.
  10. Pea sized hail and (I'd guess) 40-50 mph gusts around Easton, PA about 30-40 minutes ago with the stuff ahead of the line. Pretty impressive, all told.
  11. SREF plumes for total snow have gone up in E PA (KABE) if you compare 21Z to 15Z. Seems to be something else on which to hang ultimately dashed hopes.
  12. Are SREFs not cool enough these days to entertain during intermission? Yes, I realize this is from 15Z, but I haven't seen any SREFs yet, so I'm just reminding y'all there are more places where you can break your refresh button.
  13. Sleet has arrived in Palmer Twp., Northampton Co. Mixing with the snow - hasn't fully taken over (yet).
  14. I thought it was a radar hallucination, but it does appear to be getting beaten back some. Time will tell. Haven't seen the latest short-range guidance re: 850/700 lows, so I'm not sure if we still stand a chance of hanging on here from 78 northward. Might be a good time to take a look at the 00Z soundings as they roll in.
