  1. I'm heading up to Killington/Okemo/ Mount Snow next weekend. Should be near peak conditions. Those areas are about 30% color change right now.
  2. A torch all winter will make for some fun posts.
  3. The park has quite a bit of old growth Maple, Oak, Tulip Tree and Beech. A majority of the trees are 75 -100'. The lumber alone is worth a small fortune considering how rare this large quantity of old growth is.
  4. Front passing through here with just heavy rain. No thunder/lightning.
  5. Starting to see some very early color change here in Enfield. A few of the Sugar Maples are changing:
  6. Looks like BDL stayed below 60F for the first time this Fall season.
  7. Didn't get to 60F until past 5am, while bananas where growing in Tolland. Did BDL get to 60 yesterday. Hourly obs for 9/25 show 49/59.
  8. Still waiting on the warmfront. 58.1F. It's in the mid 60's to the South along I-84.
  9. Still waiting on the warmfront. 58.5F and 2.49" for the day.
  10. We visited Alley Pond Park in November of 2015. Here is my son in front of one of the massive Tulip Trees:
  11. I grew up with old growth forest up the block from where I lived in Queens. As odd as it sounds, Alley Pond Park has very old trees. The oldest tree in NYC, a Tulip Tree circa 1575, was walking distance from my house.
  12. It will be fun here dipping below freezing on clear night's in October/November, while it's 50F on Mt Tolland.
  13. Still below normal yesterday, today and most likely tomorrow as well.
  14. Did they, I only see 59F. https://w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KBDL.html
  15. BDL high of 59F, -13F. Looks like a brief mildup on Wednesday and temperatures around normal late week.
  16. BDL -5F for the day yesterday. I thought zero chance for below normal?
