Nothing over head on radar, but I do have light flurries coming down. Of course, with the temps it's sticking to anything.
-
Sleet mixing in near Hagerstown, ouch ouch ouch. Still have good amount of snow though.

Yeah, cold ground has really helped us up here. Roads do not want to stay plowed. Big flakes also helped with that.
-
Maybe between 2 to 3 inches here SW of Hagerstown, still just moderate snow fall.

Heavy flakes have been going for a good 30mins or so. Almost covered grassy surfaces, drive way long covered.

Getting sleet mixing in now. One thing I noticed already is that it is not melting on the roads (untreated) already seeing the snow/sleet blown around by passing cars.
-
Flurries started a few miles west of I-81, 27.5/23.6dp.

Only a 7 inch difference here between the NAM and 3K with 10 hours until start time. That model is utter garbage.
That was really weird, maybe it pulled the wrong image somehow?

I’d argue that surface temps aren’t necessarily the biggest issue here for many. Especially N/W of the cities. Maybe that will end up not being the case, but every bit of guidance is showing a warm layer above the surface.
Totally agree, but the HRRR was doing something odd, up here in Hagerstown, where the 850 was still below freezing, but we have like 34 - 35 degrees at the surface at 10AM. We shall see.

Now down to 27.9/20.4dp also no real wind as of yet.

Already dropped to 31.6 here from a high of 38.5. Good start for the overnight. Still plenty of clear skies so far.

Seeing all these photos of snow to my North, East, West and South. My area here in SW Fred County has absolutely nothing.
I'm feeling your pain as well. Nothing here in the I-81 corridor. Hopefully there will be some up on South Mountain for the drive into work.

Line is moving sleet expanding maybe?
I wouldn't put too much stock in that. If you look at the Maryland Chart traffic cams, it looks like snow maybe all the way back towards the west of Cumberland. I know we are still raining here in Hagerstown area.

Temps dropping very quick just SW of Hagerstown. From 45.3 at 7:30PM to 40.8 at 8:45PM.

Out just SW of Hagerstown, cooling off nicely. 37.9 F / 27.2 DP on the weather station.

Gotta love the person near Dulles Airport who left their weather station inside. Showing that toasty 70 degrees on PWS weather station network. Haha

I-68 in MD is a disaster. West of Clear Spring it's really coming down.
Yeah the difference on the traffic cams around and just west of Hagerstown is crazy.

Wind has now arrived in Hagerstown.

Model vs Radar is showing a pretty significant difference out west here. Will be interested to see if a more northerly movement starts up in the next couple of hours. I would be happy with it to be done
-
Bummer, just changed to sleet here, about a mile or so west of Hagerstown.

Looking at the 3k Nam (12Z) and PWS temps, NAM might have been a bit over ambitious on temps rising this morning. Will be interesting to see how to plays out today. At least for the Frederick/Hagerstown area.

Was touch and go here for a bit as snow got really really light but now picking back up. Hopefully the HRRR is right and this keeps going for a while longer.
