Wow, the heavy stuff just doesn't let up for you all.  Looks like another batch of red returns coming up next.  Stay safe.

    Side note,

MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE CONOWINGO DAM WILL BE OPERATING UNDER SPILL CONDITIONS. THE CONOWINGO DAM IS EXPECTED TO OPEN 1-9 FLOOD GATES BEGINNING THIS FRIDAY 03SEP21 @ NOON. LARGE AMOUNTS OF DEBRIS AND LOGS ARE POSSIBLE, AND BUOYS MAY BE LOW RIDING DUE TO INCREASED CURRENT. ALL MARINERS ARE REQUESTED TO USE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE TRANSITING THE AREA.

    Awww yeah free lumber!

I think last heavy band moving through now for us up here, looks like lighter rain still will continue for a while longer.

By far the heaviest rain of the day in Hagerstown. Really coming down now.

Yeah, it looked like we were going to hit a lull but it has really blown up now right almost at the MD/WV border.  Not sure if that will continue to back build or not.

You may be on to something here.    I wasn't worrying too much about the late night threat due to what I thought would be a lack of instability, but even though it's somewhat of an outlier, the HRRR has a modest shear/instability combo here towards morning.

Maybe outside of your area of expertise, but is tonight’s action part of those numbers people were posting from the models today?  I say this because up in PA from Breezewood to Chambersburg has been getting slammed already with several hours of storms.  If it’s going to add another 5 inch plus tomorrow, ouch.

Yeah, I know a lot of people are bummed, but out here in Frederick/Washington county we have been having heavy rain almost everyday for at least a week.  This could get really ugly out here for flooding.

I knew it was too good to be true having that dry spot up into Calvert county.  Reality is starting to intercede.  Basically the negative of a winter storm.

You know what....suddenly I feel much better about us buying the house with 400ft of elevation versus the one that had a nice big stream running through the backyard last month.

How did you like that area by the way compared to Hagerstown? (Figured I’d ask as I wait for the storm here lol). Some nice homes up there. I work remote and have been exploring the area.

Have only been here for about a month, so too early to tell yet weather wise. :)  The real test will be this winter. Haha I did like the Walkersville area, it was really nice, but unfortunately just not homes available when we needed to purchase.  So we headed further West.

Just commented on that. Tho looks pretty dark from my view over gambrill state park. These systems lately have often times just rained themselves out. Lack of shear I guess, though not sure.

Could also be from the downslope after South Mt or Braddock Heights.  I know it was so annoying up in Walkersville when they would die out right before reaching us.

Best of the year lightening show just to the south.  I am in a perfect spot, get to see and hear it without the rain, already had 1.22 inches today so I am good.

It’s really crazy that I can see that Waldorf and south storm up here in between Hagerstown and Frederick.  Weather is so cool.
