  1. A little less than 7” in North Raleigh, about five miles from the Durham County line. I think I need to start saying Northwestern Wake County because even though we have a Raleigh address we aren’t near the city limits. I’m definitely surprised but our kids are thrilled. Sleet is mixing in with the snow now.
  2. Just eyeballing it but I’m thinking close to 5” here in North Raleigh. We are only a few miles from the Durham County line so I think that made a huge difference.
  3. North Raleigh poster here. I’m prepared to watch Chapel Hill get 8” of snow while we get 1” of sleet and cold rain.
  4. I think that you’re in good shape. Those of us in Wake County can’t say the same.
  5. Very true but I just see that coming. I can’t remember the last time Wake County wasn’t on the snow/rain line. I always tell our kiddos to not get too excited about snow because I feel awful when we don’t get that much. Our son considers 1” of snow the best thing ever so for the most part he is easy to please.
  6. Meh. I’m a bitter party of one. I love living in Raleigh and truly wouldn’t want to live anywhere else but I’m really tired of getting jack squat when it comes to snow. Charlotte getting more than us Wake County residents is a real WTF. I’m used to it for the Triad but Charlotte and upstate SC getting more? I’m convinced that we are just cursed when it comes to snow.
  7. You know that Ji is whining right now about not getting anything but DCA is definitely going to jackpot.
  8. I had about nine so I got you beat. That will probably be it for Wake County this week.
  9. You aren’t kidding! Roxboro is always the sweet spot!
  10. I hope that you’re right but the trends are definitely going in the wrong direction for us.
  11. In our defense, Wake County is always on the dang snow line and we have been screwed over too much the last few years. I love living in Raleigh but it’s painful for a snow lover!
  12. North Raleigh here...just lost power about two minutes ago.
  13. Power is out in North Raleigh. Dang it.
  14. Lights flickering in North Raleigh. I’m not feeling too good about things right now. That’s what I get for thinking we would be fine.
  15. It’s true. Even our kids came inside and asked, “where is this heavy snow you’ve been talking about?”
  16. This super light snow in North Central Wake County is for the birds. NWS said that we should have moderate snow now. Wrong. Why do I get my hopes up every time?
  17. It really does seem that way at RDU. Utterly bizarre.
  18. Well, you are still better off than those of us in Wake County!
  19. You’re in Chapel Hill, correct? If so then I’m not sure why you’re complaining. Those of us in Wake County have legitimate concerns but you are pretty much in the sweet spot.
  20. I feel the same way you do. Don’t worry though, I’m sure that Brick will chime in soon saying that we have nothing to worry about.
  21. We are more north central Wake County. The last “storm” we had we struggled to even get a dusting so yes, there is a snow hole over my part of Wake County. We have friends in Apex who got almost an inch two weeks ago and we got nothing. The hole is always somewhere over Wake County.
  22. It’s really ridiculous. I know that everyone wants snow but I would think that most people here would take pity on those of us who live in the Wake County snow hole. Ugh.
