  1. Just the thought of New Orleans getting 5-8” of snow is crazy!
  2. I’m trying a reverse jinx here. Let’s see if it works.
  3. Reverse jinx is what I’m doing here!!!
  4. Unfortunately I think you’re right. The NW trend just isn’t going to come far enough for those of us in RDU. Fab Feb for us I guess.
  5. This is Brick’s storm. Let’s let him reel it in. If he wants to wait until tomorrow to see if the Euro gets onboard, then I say we wait.
  6. @HKY_WXI would love to hear more of your thoughts about the storm and the possible NW trend. Do you think it’s going to happen? I have been a member of this board for years, mostly a lurker, but everything you have always said has been spot on.
  7. Oh yeah. Let the NW trend continue!!!
  8. Even though I’m in Northern Wake, I’m cheering for my fellow Wake County residents that live in Southern Wake. I swear the coast gets more snow then they do! Let’s go NW trend!!!
  9. While I’m happy for the coastal folks, I swear they have gotten more snow than RDU the last few years. I’m beginning to think those of us who live in RDU have done something to really annoy the snow gods. If Savannah, Charleston, and Wilmington get more snow than us again, we might just need to throw in the towel on winter. So frustrating.
  10. Knowing RDU and snowfall, I wouldn’t change your flights. Even if it *does* snow, I don’t think it will be enough to affect flights.
  11. I know that the standard NW trend will probably happen, but if the Florida panhandle gets more snow than RDU, I’m going to think that we’re all cursed for some reason when it comes to snow. Come on winter weather!!!
  12. Everytime I log on and see there have only been a few new replies since I was on hours earlier it makes me nervous!
  13. I have been pleasantly surprised by the storm after seeing the NAM. I definitely didn’t expect to get over an inch. Not real thrilled with the ZR right now though.
  14. It’s a little crazy, but good for them. While we were due, they were absolutely overdue.
  15. Still light snow in NW Wake County, but it sounds like a matter of time until the sleet fest starts. I was hoping for all snow for a few more hours.
  16. Snow has definitely lightened up in NW Wake County. It was really beautiful for awhile!
  17. Easily. While this might sound pathetic, it makes me want to cry!
  18. Unfortunately, I would say so. I remember the massive ice storm Chapel Hill had many years ago that literally shut down the city for almost a week. We had about .30” of ice in our neighborhood. No power for six days. It was awful. Hopefully you won’t get that!
  19. No kidding! I don’t think I’ve ever seen flakes this big. It’s just so dang beautiful!!!
  20. Got some big ‘ol beautiful flakes here in NW Wake County. I really hope it keeps up, but I’m worried about that nasty sleet line.
  21. We must be super close! We live about five miles from the Durham County line off of Creedmoor Rd. Our 16 year-old just placed an order from Domino’s on Leesville Road because she said she wanted to get experience driving in this. It’s pretty heavy, so I told her absolutely not. Thankfully my husband is from Idaho and is used to this, so he is going with her. Nothing like stubborn teenagers who think they own the road!
  22. We must be close to each other! Finally all snow here about 10 miles NW of RDU.
  23. Are you near Falls Lake? We live about five minutes north of there and we’re just getting a cold rain now. Ugh.
  24. No kidding. I convinced myself to be happy with an inch, but with the way things have been trending we’re going to be lucky if we even get flurries. Crazy how Dallas is getting more snow than RDU again.
