Maybe 0.5" on my table. Light tiny micro flakes. Guess it's better than total subsidence north of the band.
Theres about the same in the bronx.

Point being? Snow is snow
My point is the gfs doesnt show 14-16 hours of snow. If it isnt true, why post it?

Even with yesterday, we're still well below normal in snowfall. So I don't know why any snow lover would want saturday to bust.
Because my job is hard enough without snow falling, and im working friday night. Snow totals when i cant play in the snow dont count.

Everyone should probably re-read the first 30 or so pages of this thread. Some can learn….others should consider a large fork for their helping of humble pie. Of course the ones who need that the most will just reappear as if nothing happened….but maybe it will inspire some.

4-8" in and around the metro. Pretty spot on forecast overall outside of the northern areas which greatly overperformed. I think some saw the 6z euro with the 12"+ numbers and set unreasonable expectations. Very nice storm, the best in 2 years.
Im at 10”.

Coming down at a decent clip here in the UES, streets slushy, avenues wet. I am a bit concerned about Manhattan getting stuck in between the deformation band over NNJ and the WCB goods pushing into Long Island. Mesoscale analysis does have me optimistic that subsidence shouldn't be too much of a problem however, as it really isn't consolidated over a pivoting band to our northwest.
Right on cue some bands are infilling just over the Hudson in Jersey, so at this hour there doesn't appear to be a deformation mega band to the west that will have the city dealing with bright clouds and exhaust. There will be consolidation at some point with these bands as the fronto gets cranking, still question of where this will happen who will get the pivot point.
Im still at heavy snow in rockland, radar returns would have led me to believe i was going to deal with that sinking air between the bands. radar definitely not doing justice to the ground truth right now.

Legit heavy snow again now. Visibility dropping at times to about 800’ when the wind picks up.

I keep alternating between borderline heavy snow (vis somewhere slightly above 1/4 mile) and showery type stuff for the last 20 minutes or so. Frustrating.

I get it…and being that close to the water definitely makes a huge impact too. But thats not wet ground, thats snowcovered. At least when discussing accumulations re: models. Thats all i was saying lol. Its been said a lot here the last few days that “no way will those total verify, the roads will stay wet”.

About 4” here so far on elevated cold surfaces like my patio table. About half that on the ground. Very light snow here currently and 30 degrees.
Got 1/2” the last 40 minutes a few miles from you. That band is expanding though. Hopefully for a few hours.
