  3. 29 this morning. Looks windy tomorrow! Saturday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Northwest wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
  4. October 2024 is shaping up to be one of the driest on record, particularly over the eastern part of central Pennsylvania in the Middle/Lower Susquehanna Valley. The month-to-date precipitation at Harrisburg is 0.47" which ranks tied for the 5th driest (2000) October on record. The latest forecast favors a very dry end to the month with little to no precipitation in central PA.
  5. 52 this morning had .02 rain around 11 pm last night.
  6. Some of the tender stuff was killed by the frost days ago. But the petunias are still blooming. They must be a little more hardy. And the grass keeps on growing, I completed another mow yesterday. Are you expecting a water delivery from Voyager soon? You said water bills march on.
  7. From our very good friend DT: Wxrisk.com · Yes it has been a real Autumn for change with several notable cold shots and a lack of sustained Heat. This has been quite different than what we have seen over the past 20 years so it is nice to see. Unfortunately, it has been incredibly dry from the East Coast all the way to the Rockies since August and Drought conditions are rapidly intensifying across the country. D4 - Drought Condition 4-- is building across Southeast Ohio and portions of West Virginia with several areas of D3 conditions developing importance of the Midwest and the Plains. As bad as it is in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware at least some of these areas have received rainfall from recent Southeast US hurricanes. We are in a dry dry pattern which may not change until we reach very late October or the beginning of November
  8. Didn't he work for the NWS years ago? Bet you cant wait for his snow accumulation and start time maps. There only weeks away from being published!
  9. The only way you'll win is if you get a load of water delivered and unloaded in the 'ville before the ground freezes. Remember he doesn't want any runoff. Every drop counts to keep his lawn in pristine condition over the winter months. That way he'll be in the running to start mowing in March to get an edge on the mowing competition. Hopefully he will be in victory lane at the end of the season (with his 60 plus mows) and his battery powered mower. And while he is getting interviewed on his victory, you just might get a shout out for being a supplier attributing to his success on winning the coveted mowing trophy .
  10. A lot of the grass is white from frost this morning, I guess tonight will be even slightly colder.
  11. It got down to 32.5 overnight here. But warmed up to 34.7 now at dawn.
  12. Frost advisory for basically 3/4 of the state tonight.
  13. Will the NWS be issuing trash can watches or warnings out this year for the Harrisburg area?
