As I have said, we are now in a new pattern for the next week or so. Dew point values will stay largely in the 40s to 50s, marking quite a change after we have been stuck in the 70s for much of July. Our humidity will being to creep up by the middle to end of next week, with widespread 65+ dew points possibly returning into the mid-60s, and possibly into the 70s after this time period. Stay tuned for updates! #PAwx #Summer #Humidity #August #Pennsylvania

You know, I saw that happening earlier and was wondering if you were just inside of that cell. Amazing.

Yes I was inside that cell. Even almost 4 hours after the rain stopped and sun came back out, there is still water running. Coming out of the ground. The ground is saturated here. Hopefully I won't get much rain tomorrow. But if we get a few inches tomorrow it won't turn out good.

I got .29" in Tamaqua. While I saw a good one driving through Cross Keys and Leesport, north of Reading on PA61, Tamaqua was on the fringe of the first storm and missed completely on the second one.

You might soon have to deliver water to yourself at the rate your going.

  8. "Corn sweat" is the term used to describe the moisture that corn plants release into the air through transpiration—kind of like the plants' version of sweating. A single acre of mature corn can release up to 4,000 gallons of water into the atmosphere per day during peak summer heat, dramatically increasing local humidity levels. That sticky, soupy air you feel in farm-heavy areas? You can thank all that hot, sweaty corn.
