“Too cold to snow” huh?...
go tell that to Antarctica, Russia, Canada, Serbia, and any tall mountain range like the Rockies, Alps, and Himalayas.
I'm not saying it's too cold to snow. All im saying is we live in the SE. Historically in some of our coldest months ever they have been some of our least snowiest months around here. It is a well known fact that a lot of the big snowstorms we see around here we get with temps right around 30 degrees. Yes i have seen it snow around 0 degree but we did not get a foot of snow from that. Having such cold high pressure systems bearing down on the region is hurting our chances for snow as we have already seen with basically two systems disappearing.

Can the posts containing the phrase "It's too cold to snow" get deleted?
Lol she deleted one of my post telling Grit that the trends on the models where getting worse. I could care less. The too cold too snow and people trying to talk themselves into believing it will snow in there backyard are funny. Its like every new update is the same thing. Trough is sharper it looks better through about hour 54, Mack comes in BOOM we are going to have a great run then it just takes a nose dive!

Does anyone think it is so strange that the SE ridge isn't popping up in a few days?
Why would it with massive high pressure building in. Have you not seen the extreme cold coming in?

Really Pack? The CFS comes out with something different everyday... What month did it blow recently? November I believe.

Is that even possible!?!?
Went shopping in Asheville tonight. Absolutely nobody knew it was gonna snow. One gal said if it did we would get a dusting. Oh my oh my. NWS has some explaining to do...
Yeah if we get what looks to be coming then a lot of people will be caught off guard. The roads could be a disaster.

Even though Piedmont might see some snow, the mountains are going to cash in this weekend. debating on a trip this weekend!
Actually with the way things have trended we are left high and dry. No moisture around.

Man, imagine you live somewhere like Rockport, TX. It got wiped off the map, practically, and this run almost brings snow to the Texas shore.
No kidding! I was looking at the snow all the way into Mexico and along the Gulf coast in Louisiana, Alabama, and parts of the Panhandle. Shoot even New Orleans kind of got in on that run. Pretty crazy how the trough is oriented then the moisture comes in deep.

Congrats gulf coast on this run.

We are screwed in WNC. We have buds and leaves coming out. With highs in the 20s and lows in the single digits it's going to burry everything.

It will be a real gut punch if March is blocky and BN....because no matter how much BN it still spells rain for us.
Lol count on it. I was thinking the same thing.

Good call. I have a 2WD Explorer. Snow/skiing isn't worth life and limb. Maybe we'll end up on the right side of things in terms of precip types for once, but I'm not counting on it.
Where are you located? Your point/click location is showing in WV.
Yeah do not come to the moutains with 2wd. Just too dangerous and everything is going to stick at once here. Current temps are in the mid to low 20s .

Fear the northwest trend.
And I love how the mountain folks have just been sitting back watching us watch all the models knowing the entire time they were going to cash in big time.
Lol this made me laugh! Man I do love living in the mountains. I know it's a touchy subject with most about the NW trend. I had a few try to get into an argument with me yesterday and I just dropped it because I know it stings when things look like crap getting close to lift off. I do hope a lot of people can get a decent / great snow.

Well, at least we'll get some sleep. Stupid southern stream wave. Why can't it muscle up and take some energy from the northern stream instead of getting worked over like a wet chicken?
Lol great comment CR!

Its very telling when we have a plus NAO and AO is plus but we are in the freezer. The PNA is fixing to go negative for a bit so of course things will warm but then we reload with a great cold pattern again I think going into February.
