I know we’re all jaded, but that 18z GFS run was pure winter for SNE north. Snowy overrunning system Wed. More snow Friday. Another pulse late weekend/Mon. Then the Arctic hounds are unleashed. I don’t know how the GEFS look…but that was a nice OP run.
I spent 2016-2017 in NOVA. We had 1” of SLEET in mid March that winter. That’s it. That was the winter. After that, I moved to the Mid Atlantic of Massachusetts. Cape Ann. 2014-2015 was my last good winter. It’s been a decade of regression for me.
The 12z GFS man HP would save next week. Either get us on the cold side or blast through with the warmth. No straddling the line with 38F rain/drizzle.
I average about 50” here. A little over a quarter of that last winter. Same so far this winter. But hey, at least Saturday’s high tide destroyed a 100 year old sea wall in town, flooding a neighborhood.
Agree. Not condoning it. I pull myself back from the edge oftentimes so I don’t taint a thread. And for once, taint is not a worry for the next two threats.
It’s understandable though. Just endured two massive cutters. It was just 60 and sunny this afternoon. Perhaps a snow squall or two tomorrow afternoon will get people back into the spirit.
Light event still very much on the table for 1/16.
My cousin is getting married at 4 tomorrow. Instead of throwing rice at the bride and groom, Mother Nature will pelt them in the face with graupel and ice rimed flakes leaving the church?
