  1. Nice shoutout to pf from Atkinson on today’s stoke exchange.
  2. Same is true up north in vt. Southern areas do better on the big synoptic coastal storms, but the northern areas get to 250-350” average from the small frequent snowfalls.
  3. Whistler is on the coast, whereas the other areas in bc are inland. Much less chance of getting rained on and the snow in general is lighter.
  4. I’d add whitewater to that list. No tourists and Nelson is a great city. 3 hour drive from Spokane.
  5. Yeah, I suspect my lake will thaw and not refreeze again this winter.
  6. the thaws and cutters werent really that damaging to the snowpack. Obviously unwelcome but there werent any that wiped things out significantly.
  7. Also, having the right gear. I donned the flannel lined pants, flannel shirt and vest today. No problems. I’ve probably skied 5 days this season where the wind chills were colder than today so mentally it’s no big thing.
  8. Left the Bronx at 3:30 at 32f. Snow started shortly thereafter. A good 10 minutes of whiteout on the sprain. In croton a little before 5 and 17f.
  9. From the other side of the gradient, .4” in the can
  10. My goose is cooked here. 36f. Nothing but rain.
  11. My lake is totally frozen. Beautiful out. 17f.
  12. fwiw-3.31" in the can for the month to date.
  13. I don’t know but I was getting the ark ready.
  14. check the zipper on your trousers! I kid, I skied a run yesterday after taking a tinkle in the woods and neglected to zip up my ski pants. it was quite chilly.
