...A PERIOD OF HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING... A narrow south to north oriented band of heavy rain will develop and slowly move across the area this afternoon through early evening. This will produce heavy rain from the Genesee Valley eastward, with a half inch to inch of rain falling in about a 2 hour period. Heavy rain will move through Monroe and Livingston counties, including the Rochester metro area, between noon and 3 p.m. The band will move slowly eastward across Wayne and Ontario counties between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. before reaching Northern Cayuga and Oswego counties. This heavy rain will result in ponding of water on roadways, and minor lowland flooding

Two of the biggest employers around the area, Fulton boilers and Felix Schuller are pretty much operating at full staff..They are wearing ppe as well as keeping up with social distancing as much as they can, seems to be working with only a few cases in the local area...

PULASKI, N.Y. — A small Oswego County business that makes air purifiers is seeing record demand for it its product on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic. The Healthway Family of Brands is a small family-run company that up until two months ago employed less than 30 people. However, thanks to their patented air purification technology, business has been booming. The company’s air purifiers have been scientifically proven to be 40x more efficient than traditional air purifiers in removing ultrafine particles, including viruses, from the air. Company president Vinny Lobdell says since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, demand for the company's air purifiers has skyrocketed. "The impact to our business has been considerable. We're probably producing ten times the amount of product compared to this time last year. So just understanding the significant demand globally it has really impacted our business,” Lobdell says. Locally, National Grid and Crouse Hospital are both using Healthway’s air purifiers. Lobdell says it is an honor to have a product that is made in Pulaski being used locally and around the globe to help combat the coronavirus. "Our company here is just really proud of the fact that our solutions are being trusted to use worldwide on the frontlines,” he says. The company is now expanding its operations in Pulaski. Just this past week, it purchased an additional 10,000 square foot building in the area and plans are in the works to build a brand new 20,000 square foot facility in the next few months

Obviously not surprising.. Derek Jeter and the other members of the 2020 Baseball Hall of Fame class will have to wait another year before taking the stage in Cooperstown. The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum announced Wednesday that its board of directors voted unanimously to cancel the 2020 Hall of Fame induction ceremony and the surrounding events scheduled for July 24-27 due to health and safety concerns associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, the 2020 class will now be honored alongside the 2021 class next July.

Yeah if you add up the tri counties of Oswego, Jefferson, Lewis you have about 130 cases with a population of near 260k..To put that in perspective my in-laws down in CNJ have over 150 confirmed cases with a population of 34k..Once again it's all about population density and being much more spread out..

OSWEGO — The number of COVID-19 cases in Oswego County continues to increase, but the rate of increase has slowed dramatically in recent weeks as the number of people tested remains steady, according to county reports. Statewide more than 730,000 individuals have been tested for the coronavirus, with more than 271,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19. The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Oswego County has increased from 53 to 58 in the last week, after increasing from 42 to 53 the previous week. More than 540 individuals in Oswego County have been tested for COVID-19 in the last two weeks, with the total number of tests increasing from 886 on April 10, to 1,160 on April 17 and reaching 1,430 on Friday. Oswego County leaders say the social distancing measures residents have put into practice, along with health officials’ efforts to isolate infected individuals and track down known contacts, are working. “As a county, we are continuing to make headway in our fight against coronavirus,” Oswego County Legislature Chairman James Weatherup, R-Central Square, said Friday. “Our number of positive cases has remained relatively low compared to some of our neighbors, and our rate of new cases has slowed dramatically.” More than 90 percent of the county residents tested return negative results, he said. “I think so far, with the community’s help, we’ve flattened the curve,” Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang said Friday, adding the main goal was to maintain and preserve the health care and first responder workforce. Stay at home orders in the city of Oswego and countywide voluntary travel restrictions put in place in early April seemingly are working to stop the spread of the virus. Local officials have continually thanked residents for their patience and cooperation. Huang, however, cautioned community members have not gained enough exposure to the virus to gain “so-called herd immunity” and knowing when a second wave might come is elusive. “Down the road, honestly, we don’t know when a second peak will come,” Huang said. “So we are still closely monitoring the disease and we are working with our partners in health care, hospitals, nursing homes and long-term care.” Huang acknowledged the current stay-at-home orders cannot remain in place forever, noting humans are “a social animal,” but in lieu of a vaccine or pharmacological solution it’s the best approach we have. He said a gradual, phased approach to resuming economic activities will be needed while officials continue monitoring the situation. County health officials are identifying cases via testing and tracking down known contacts, Huang said, adding the county is prepared to continue that work as long as necessary. “The purpose is to protect our residents and protect our communities, because a vaccine is still far away,” he said. Cases of COVID-19 have been identified in 19 of the 24 reporting areas in Oswego County, which include the towns and cities. County officials have confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the cities of Fulton and Oswego and the towns of Boylston, Constantia, Granby, Hastings, Mexico, Minetto, New Haven, Orwell, Oswego, Palermo, Richland, Sandy Creek, Schroeppel, Scriba, Volney, West Monroe and Williamstown. Weatherup has continually urged residents to avoid public places and groups of people as much as possible during the coronavirus outbreak. Forty-six of the 58 individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 in Oswego County have recovered, according to county officials, who say there are 10 active positive cases in the county. Two county residents have died due to coronavirus-related complications. Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, difficulty breathing, gastrointestinal illness and new loss of taste or smell.

I for one am trying to do the total opposite of getting fat and lazy during this hiatus. lol I have been saving most of my money but decided to buy a stationary bike as well as a treadmill..I'm a smoker who is in the fight of his life trying to quit, I'm doing the wean down method which seems to be working, i was a pack a day smoker , now down to 8 a day, hoping to continue that as my body adjust to the lack of nicotine.. You can see I have a wonderful helper lol

I have wells Fargo as my lender and they have a few options depending on your situation..They could extend it from 3 months to 6 months if you're still having financial hardship, they could defer it to the end of the loan, make a payment plan or pay in full if you're back at work and can pay it..At least this is what they claim lol

One big issue right now is unemployment, way way behind..Read some of the horror stories on social media, waiting 4,5,6 weeks for a check, of course people wanna go back to work lol Most self employed/gig workers are having trouble applying for PUA benefits, it's pretty stupid to make people get denied for UI benefits before they can apply for PUA federal funding lol
