  1. Open the country back up and let the people make their own decisions lol Not much is getting through the KN95 mask, if I wanna continue to wear them I will lol Good luck getting herd immunity in the rural sections of upstate NY..
  2. Now today is a spring morning, nearing 50° as of 8:30 am...
  3. Watch Florida cases start to boom.. Floridians didn’t waste any time getting back to the sun and surf when beaches and parks were reopened in Jacksonville — the same day the state clocked a record number of coronavirus cases.
  4. Looks like we'll have to wait another year which is obviously not surprising with what's going on.. What was supposed to be a banner year for marijuana legalization is becoming a bust. Advocates are pushing ballot referendums in nearly a dozen states, from Idaho to New Jersey. Governors and state lawmakers who failed to pass legalization last year — most notably in New York — vowed that 2020 would be different. But social distancing has put ballot drives on pause and state lawmakers are overwhelmed with addressing the crisis at hand. Even New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who declared that marijuana legalization would be a “top priority” earlier this year, abandoned the initiative when his state emerged as the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S.
  5. Sunlight destroys virus quickly, new govt. tests find From Yahoo News: Yahoo News obtained a report showing preliminary results from government lab experiments show that the coronavirus does not survive long in high temperatures and high humidity, and is quickly destroyed by sunlight, providing evidence from controlled tests of what scientists believed — but had not yet proved — to be true. This news offers hope that summertime may offer conditions less hospitable for the virus, though experts caution it will by no means eliminate, or even necessarily decrease, new cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. The results, however, do add an important piece of knowledge that the White House’s science advisers have been seeking as they scramble to respond to the spreading pandemic. The study found that the risk of “transmission from surfaces outdoors is lower during daylight” and under higher temperature and humidity conditions. “Sunlight destroys the virus quickly,” reads the briefing. While that may provide some good news about the outlook for outdoor activities, the Department of Homeland Security briefing on the results cautions that enclosed areas with low humidity, such as airplane cabins, “may require additional care to minimize risk of transmission.” In a statement to Yahoo News, the DHS declined to answer questions about the findings and strongly cautioned against drawing any conclusions based on unpublished data.
  6. Yea I agree, not like we had much of a chance up here anyway lol
  7. This was the fox news report a couple of days ago.. EXCLUSIVE: There is increasing confidence that the COVID-19 outbreak likely originated in a Wuhan laboratory, though not as a bioweapon but as part of China's attempt to demonstrate that its efforts to identify and combat viruses are equal to or greater than the capabilities of the United States, multiple sources who have been briefed on the details of early actions by China's government and seen relevant materials tell Fox News. This may be the "costliest government cover-up of all time," one of the sources said. The sources believe the initial transmission of the virus – a naturally occurring strain that was being studied there – was bat-to-human and that "patient zero" worked at the laboratory, then went into the population in Wuhan. The “increasing confidence” comes from classified and open-source documents and evidence, the sources said. Fox News has requested to see the evidence directly. Sources emphasized -- as is often the case with intelligence -- that it’s not definitive and should not be characterized as such. Some inside the administration and the intelligence and epidemiological communities are more skeptical, and the investigation is continuing.
  8. Well remember this guy you posted? Lol And the job ad out of Wuhan in November..
  9. According to the governor infection rate is down below 1..
  10. Not a cloud in the sky here lol Chilly day, high of 39°..
  11. What started as the worst-case scenario for U.S. unemployment is quickly becoming reality. Some economists now see the jobless rate surging to 20% as soon as this month -- and there’s no guarantee it would stop there. About 5.5 million people are estimated to have filed for unemployment last week, in data due out Thursday. That would push the four-week total above 22 million, roughly one-in-eight of the workforce -- essentially wiping out all the job gains since the last recession. And jobless claims are expected to stay in the millions for several more weeks, as the impact of the coronavirus cascades through the economy. It all adds up to a worse recession than initially thought, and probably a more difficult recovery once the pandemic subsides. Many people have been struggling for weeks to file for unemployment benefits via overwhelmed and outdated websites. And while the government has rushed to help by authorizing trillions in stimulus, delays in getting the money to households and businesses -- as well as a possible shortage of program funds -- could push the jobless rate higher or keep it elevated for longer.
  12. Looks like a grazer tomorrow, maybe some snow shower activity tomorrow afternoon/evening..
  13. Yeah they have no problem attacking humans.. You can see one goose always stands watch like a big bully as the other one eats lol They have been coming back to my pond ever since I moved here..
  14. Most people have guard dogs I have guard geese, it's actually a real thing lol
  15. Coming down pretty good at the moment, 29.1°..Looks like a little lake effect lol
  16. Still snowing pretty good, may eek out an inch lol Down to 30.5°..
  17. One last comment.. People are put on a ventilator for a reason, they are in such respiratory distress that they can't breathe on their own..So that means 100% of people would parish if sent home, so 87% actually looks pretty good and according to Cuomo it's about 80% that doesn't make it off...(state wide)
  18. So what are the options? Let people suffocate to death right in front of you? I don't know what you can do in that scenario.. Maybe this drug everyone is touting? We have no therapeutic vaccines to my knowledge... At least on a ventilator more times than not you are in an induced coma, which at the very least prevents suffering... Unfortunately most people on a ventilator are going to pass anyway, maybe drug them up and make them as comfortable as possible in their last days especially if ventilators are making the situation worse..
  19. Almost 1100 test to get those 50 positives lol Still 50 pending.. Social distancing is nothing new for most of Oswego county, comes with the territory lol
