12z GFS: 850's stay below zero for 8 dry days in a row...then it warms up and rains!
Sounds like a nina

Cold Rain FTW! Weeklies bomb!
99.9% of the time a Nina winter will suck. We had our good nina winter in 2010-2011. It will be another 100 years before that happens again.

Don't worry, it will be strongly negative in April.

Maybe the hardcore mets are right about the problems posting snowmaps causes. This is the Euro/EPS from this morning. For Raleigh, unless we have a favorable Atlantic (50/50 and -NAO) and a 1040+hp located over the lakes extending east to Maine we will not snow, it's just that simple.
Odds are winter is over, Nina background is still strong and odds favor a torch Feb. Hopefully next winter we can be in a weak Nino with a neutral QBO so we have a chance at HLB.
I cancelled WB and SV...it's dumb paying money to track snow storms for GSO and the MA. This isn't enjoyable anymore.
We have all been there. The euro had the same thing for me last year when I turned over to a mix.
I didn't renew my wxbell this year thinking the winter was gonna be a dud.

NAM scored big on warm noses and heavy snow further west. Thinking back on it both the GFS and EURO were garbage with some of their solutions just 2 days out.
No, the gfs was the most consistent with this storm especially considering it runs 4 times a day and the euro only two. It had a couple bad runs here or there but it was consistent along with the ukie.

And GFS is going to win in case #3 above, but will fail on case #4 that I mentioned in the previous post
Another win for the gfs on this one from 4-5 days out.

All hail the gfs.

Our temp is RISING where I am. This is done in SC outside of the mountains. Probably no sleet either, just rain south of highway 11 from here on out.
Lol...

Must be recoding the color scheme to better represent the torching layers above Raleigh.
Lol... how much rain for Raleigh?

Fear the northwest trend.
And I love how the mountain folks have just been sitting back watching us watch all the models knowing the entire time they were going to cash in big time.
Honestly I was nervous on this one with it being a late bloomer. We still could be smoking cirrus when all is said and done.

I hope Pack got some sleep last night or this morning. It's going to be hard to sleep tonight listening to heavy sleet hit the window all night.
Lol...

We absolutely have got to get the NAM on board with this thing tonight.
Nam might come in with a 95 runner

Is there any reason to believe the UK is a bit too amped or no?

Can't wait for bricks assessment of the play by play. We should have a good handle on things by then.

This is going to be a dud Euro run. I'm pretty confident about that.
Another good hit for Raleigh and the coast. Eastern nc has been a better spot over the last few years than wnc. Might be time to get a house on the beach .

The difference is huge at only 72 hours.

Good test going on now with the euro gfs.
