Same here. It's not like it's 31 and raining hard. It's been 27-29 and lightly raining/mixing all day and the tree branches here aren't sagging, nor is the untreated sidewalk anything but wet. Seems impossible.

Honestly lol. Today made me realize that even with 27 degree temperatures and a light rain, we still suck at winter.

0 accretion on trees and leaves in Germantown. I had PUDDLES! At 27 degrees! lol.

  2. Just curious - when did the NAM suddenly become Mr No? This season the NAM has been all about dashing hopes, and it's for the most part been right.

Lately it feels like the NAM and the Euro have switched places lol, with the Euro giving us these mega events 36 hours out and the NAM saying "naaa"

  3. You know, even though we haven’t had any big hits and have had to fight for every inch, this winter has been pretty good in my back yard for keeping snowcover on the ground. There is still some ice that hasn’t melted from the Jan 30 storm, and the ground is still entirely covered in snow here.

This forecast yesterday from the NAM nest (using 10:1, since snow depth maps failed due to the warmer soil leading in) wasn't too shabby:

Yup. I am now, after this season, a 100% NAM believer.

I have 4" on the ground with light snow falling.  but Checked the LWX table, a trained spotter in Clarksburg reported 1" lol

You always seem to bust high, you must have a good microclimate. I do too but this year hasn’t been my year.

Came across this quote in a Baltimore Sun article about the ‘94 ice storms:

Feb. 10-11, an extraordinary 4 inches of sleet fell at BWI. On the 11th, the precipitation type changed 10 times.

Can you imagine the reaction of this board if we had a repeat of that ?  Lol.

I got 3 inches of sleet my first or second year here - 2017ish? That was one of the most memorable storms I’ve ever been in.

a car tried backing over it like it was snow and got stuck lol.
