  1. The pattern as depicted on the FV3 just keeps reloading, too.
  2. But the 498 thickness visiting NC is really rare. You have to admit that.
  3. I’ve seen a couple runs lately with the 498 line dipping into the state.
  4. ICON had something cooking at the end of its run.
  5. Actually, looking at it, 925 temps are at around -5 to -7 in the triangle so that’s sleet and not freezing rain before the snow. If I had to guess, the snow/sleet line is around hillsborough to just north of Durham.
  6. And it’s absolutely insane to consider an event like that. You usually don’t see storms that go from freezing rain to snow here.
  7. Also 2” total QPF. Snow totals around 3” in Durham County but much heavier just north and west.
  8. Starts off with warning ice accretion followed by heavy snow with temps around 20 followed by lows near zero.
  9. 12z Euro is an absolute massive winter storm.
  10. FV3 not only agrees with the other GFS but looks better.
  11. We’ve definitely saw that before with similar air masses. Talk about a flash freeze.
  12. First of all, that’s the mother of all wedge fronts.
  13. Mid and Long range modelling looks pretty fantastic.
  14. That was a nice LR run for the midlands and coastal SC on the GFS.
  15. Honestly, it always makes me nervous for a mostly snow storm if it isnt snowing in Nashville.
  16. Someone smarter than me can speak on this but I swear I remember hearing there's something about the ICON's resolution that doesnt do well with CAD.
  17. I think the 6z ICON would’ve been a good run if it had ran out through the duration. It was snowing in Charlotte and Greenville at 120.
  18. 6z EPS run looks significantly better than 0z. 2" mean line moved about 100 miles east.
  19. If ZR at 28 degrees was quickly self limiting then I didn’t lose power for a week in 2002
  20. Yeah if you’re anywhere from Greenville to the triangle, temps would be around 28-29 IMBY.
  21. Yeah, ouch if that’s true. Come on euro and icon.
  22. Every bit the snowstorm IMBY that December was and probably more. Some times the euro follows it(and vice versa) so we’ll see, I guess.
