  1. A heavy rain shower just passed through, and at the tail-end had wet snow flakes mixed in. Temp dropped from 46 to 43.
  2. Wind chills range from 24-27 over south-central/southeast WI early this afternoon. Brutal. It's 65 at Fairbanks AK right now. They're gonna make a run at 80 this afternoon.
  3. 43 degrees with 35mph winds at noon on May 10th. Still holding on to the chance for a little graupel later this afternoon if we can get under a heavy enough convective shower.
  4. Wouldn't be surprised to see graupel mix in here late tomorrow afternoon if the convective showers shown on the 3km NAM materialize. A little cape and low freezing heights. Prob no regular snow flakes though.
  5. Only 52 for a high today, but it seemed warmer with the sun out all day.
  6. Those bad boys are mean as hell. If you're gonna shoot their nest with a bee-bee gun, make sure you have a clean escape route, and fast transportation away from the area.
  7. We reached 99 degrees less than 6 weeks after our last snow flakes that season.
  8. Only made it to 48 today, with a steady light rain all day. Picked up 1.05" since last evening.
  9. The ol' sun angle might have something to say about that lol.
  10. Are we gonna have a homicidal wasp thread?
  11. Euro continues to advertise snow showers/flurries for northeast IL on Friday. Also much of MI. Wish we could get in on it. If it's gonna be so miserable outside might as well have something to show for it.
  12. Unless something changes on the models that will bust. Could spend most of the day in the mid 40s with cold rain falling. Maybe we can sneak in a 50 reading early in the day before the steadier rains move in.
  13. It's gonna be in the 40s all day Tue with rain. It might as well be snowing lol.
  14. 12z Euro shows some flurries around the Chicago area on Friday lol. Meanwhile, today is fantastic. Lots of sun after some morning clouds, and temps have jumped into the 70s.
  15. Early planting is usually kind of a waste of time anyway. Nothing really takes off until we start getting the warm/humid nights consistently, which is usually June. Everything explodes in growth then, so if you planted something late it would usually catch up to whatever was planted early/successfully anyway.
  16. We have 99 confirmed at ours, with 2 deaths. That's with only 2 counties reporting, there's about 3 other counties with workers that haven't reported.
  17. If you wanted to see how Chicago/Milwaukee could get demolished by a 20-30" blizzard while areas 100 miles east or west get little to nothing this storm is your template. Kind of reminds me of the very thread-the-needle blizzard we got in Jan 1995. Very narrow area of well over a foot, while areas on either side got nothing. Was also a long lasting deform/trowel like this.
  18. This would have been a mammoth snowstorm for Chicago/Milwaukee if it had hit a month or more ago. A thread-the-needle monster for the ages.
  19. Pretty miserable day, with temps in the 40s most of the day and cold rain. Picked up 0.29".
  20. Had some nice downpours this evening, and a little thunder. Picked up 0.42".
  21. Yeah today would have been the day to do it. They plowed and planted the fields there, and across the street.
  22. Beautiful day today. Full sun, low humidity, and temps pushing 70. Grilled up some nice steaks, and had a few frosties after doing some yard work. Took care of the ol' backyard in a little over a minute.
