    Cool! Hope you stick around in this thread. Right now I just wish all of us on both sides of the bay could all get on the board (i.e. 0.1" or more). I think we can do it.

    Also, there has never been a back-to-back combined Nov/Dec shutout ever- in both those periods above, there was snow in November but not December for one of the years (Nov 1888 and Nov 1972).

    There are only two times in history that BWI has gotten back-to-back shutouts (T or 0) in December: 1888-1889, and 1971-1972.

    Two record highs broken and one tied in October at BWI. This was also tied for 10th hottest Aug/Sept/Oct period there.

    I'm thinking more and more that BWI can pull off a top ten hottest- as of yesterday they were +5.7. If we finished with that departure it would be 7th hottest. Today and tomorrow are going to push that departure even higher. Thurs and Fri look near normal and the weekend and beyond look above average. Of course it could fall apart at the end of the month but its looking good to me now. If it happens, this would be the first back-to-back top ten hottest months since June-July 2010.

    BWI got it- record of 95 today. Did DCA or IAD get anything?

    BWI has a good chance of breaking the record high of 94 that was tied... last year. What is it with Sept. 9 now? I think Sept. might have a good shot at top ten hottest too, but its too early to tell.

    On a side note, for all the Southern MD people- I just found out LWX is having a Winter Skywarn class on 11/7 in Leonardtown- I will most likely be attending this one. There's also a Convection class on 10/3 in La Plata but I won't be attending that one. http://www.weather.gov/lwx/skywarn

    Tied for 6th hottest August at BWI: however, summer was only tied for 15th hottest. Also three of the last nine months at BWI (December, March and August) have been tied for 6th or higher for heat.
