  1. Also the clouds are moving really fast to the west which is fun to watch too.
  2. It's beautiful outside, I been out in it all morning. I love cool, cloudy, breezy days like this.
  3. Tropical Storm Warning up for St. Mary's County. It's a little confusing though because the LWX main page has the entire county under the warning, but the actual text product only mentions St. Mary's City. http://forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=lwx&wwa=tropical storm warning
  4. Yep looks like it covers Sussex and Worcester counties and all waters around there: http://forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=phi&wwa=tropical storm watch
  5. On a side note, for all the Southern MD people- I just found out LWX is having a Winter Skywarn class on 11/7 in Leonardtown- I will most likely be attending this one. There's also a Convection class on 10/3 in La Plata but I won't be attending that one. http://www.weather.gov/lwx/skywarn
  6. Tied for 6th hottest August at BWI: however, summer was only tied for 15th hottest. Also three of the last nine months at BWI (December, March and August) have been tied for 6th or higher for heat.
  7. I actually haven't been to either of those beaches but I know where they are. I mostly stay in the central/southern Calvert area for bay beaches. I think Chesapeake Beach has a small boardwalk? I actually went to Rehoboth for the first time last month with my wife and son- very nice! That would be a cool spot to watch this storm I'm sure.
  8. For southern MD? Flag Ponds beach is always breezy on the bay it seems. It would probably be impossible to get in on a normal Labor Day weekend but I don't think you have to worry this weekend! They might close the beach if conditions are too bad though.
  9. Good to see you again! Tropical storm for my birthday Sunday? We stole enough snowstorms last winter- what if we steal their tropical storm too? haha
  10. I think BWI has a good shot at a top ten hottest August. If the airport were to maintain its current +4.5 departure that would be a 6th place finish.
  11. Today was the first 100+ day for BWI since July 18, 2012. Today also tied the record high of 100 set in 2010.
  12. BWI tied the record low this morning (37).
  13. I wonder what the record is at the airports for the most number of days with rain in any given month? By the time this month is over we would have to be close to the record, I think.
  14. Also... top ten coldest May on record watch for BWI? Maybe...
  15. BWI's streak ended yesterday- so did my backyard.
  16. BWI had measurable rain today already so that's 15 days with any rainfall (including Trace amounts). The record for that is 17 days, from 3/31/1935 - 4/16/1935. There was only a Trace on May 9 so the measurable streak ended then. If anyone from LWX is reading this, thanks for tracking the records in the Forecast Discussion page!
  17. Nope, I don't know either, sorry! If famartin were still around I'm sure he would know...
  18. Most of the snow has melted. Winds are starting to crank up. 50 degrees on my thermometer. I'm hoping that low of 25 NWS is forecasting busts badly.
  19. Insanely heavy snow. Sidewalks are starting to cave now. I'm at about 0.5" so far. Looks like we jackpot again! I love this winter!
  20. Record low already set at BWI (24 so far). Previous record was 26 set in 1898.
