The squall line is moving through here now .  Rain changed to grapple and we just had lightning and thunder.

Out of 221 stations in New York reporting on CoCoRaHS this morning so far only 3 are reporting any snow.  The most is 1.1 inches in Peru in Clinton County.  Looks like another disappointment.

Hard to get rid of the deep low out by Alaska........strongly positive NAO and a lot of Pacific flow over the next 10-14 days.

I'm trying to focus on all the times things looked perfect and then went to hell .  Hoping the opposite can happen here.

GFS has a big dump of arctic air for the New Year.  Of course it follows this with another cutter.

It’s been coming down here for a half an hour at about a 3”/hr rate.  The trouble is the wind is blowing it all around so it will be next to impossible to get a true measurement.  BTW I had 4.1 inches as of 7 this morning and I think I’m about 5 miles from Freak.

Extremely heavy snow here right now.  Visibility is about 100 yards.

Looks like a small meso circulation just offshore from Wayne County moving in my general direction.  I think this will signify a wind shift that will move the main band southward.

Spectacular ominous view as a snow squall approaches the Cornell campus from the west.

Must be a couple of inches per hour where you’re located.

Yep, looks like you’re in the middle of it until the arctic front pushes the band south.

Wolfie must be getting nailed right now.  Winds look to go westerly before the arctic front comes through and pulls the lake band off the lake.

We’re definitely seeing the grand finale right now.

After a lull it’s picking back up again.

They’re getting nailed in Scriba.

Looks like the low is right over Oswego.
