  1. HGR has a 51 and 2 49's in the books as to gusts. 46 so far here.
  2. I was just surprised they reached that high. His claim of 40's the next two days is dubious indeed.
  3. MDT struck a 42 already today, FWIW. Surprisingly high.
  4. Picked up a dusting of snow last evening and .02" of rain this Am. 34 degrees.
  5. All good points...since this is National signing day I will tack on the method at which teams stay relevant using NIL and TV exposure to draw players. It makes primary NCAA sports, especially basketball and football, lopsided from day one. I do not think fixing it is easily possible as imagine a draft being instated? Your 18 year old kid goes to Cali because of the draft? Also, with undergrad transfers many schools are lenient on it while others require a transfer to complete at least 60 credits to get a degree there so no one is going to go to that school when they are 3/4 of the way through their college credit requirements. To today's points, the CFP has grown as inconsistent as March Madness and there is really no easy way to fix it unless all teams are playing on even grounds.
  6. They call themselves swamp runners when comparing to the north. A bit racist.
  7. The SEC Bias is strong. You should hear the people down there. They think Ohio State and PSU students are fat, IT workers.
  8. You did not hear that here! What is you thought on SMU? :-)
  9. Not according to the person speaking for the playoff committee. He was quite clear that any team not playing cannot change their position as to new data points. The flaw for SMU is if they would not be in without the ACC title. But for someone like PSU, this would essentially wrap it up for them. The CFP needs to make some changes. Not too dissimilar from players about to be drafted deciding to avoid bowl games.
  10. The theory is, if they do not lose they cannot be taken out of the playoffs. A bit flawed IMO but lots of people are pushing the theory.
  11. Calls from fans and boosters for smu to forfeit their game this week.
  12. The Peach Fuzz boys are not looking at Texas as the number one team themselves but the Horn's stomped the Conner Stalions out of Michigan. This playoff thing is turning in to December Madness.
  13. It is hard because there are just not that many cross conference games. I would not be as high on them were it not for the Oregon game.
  14. All the bubble teams are watching intently! UNLV stayed with them back in Oct.
  15. No matter how you slice it, Boise's resume is decent. Their only loss is to the nations Number 1 team by a score of 37-34 at Oregon and Oregon had to Rally for the win. OSU also pushed Oregon this year. If you go by the power rankings, Boise is way down the list though. Difference between the computers and the results/eye test. Texas is number 1 in Power ranks. PSU 9.
  16. They beat one ranked team like PSU did and ran up the score on the not so good teams. I personally think they should be in the top 3. Greatest Show on Earth football.
  17. Yea, that was my understanding. If SMU and Boise Win then the field is probably set. But someone has to drop out if those teams lose. A hard drop to push out Boise at 11-2, on a 10 game winning streak prior, their only loss prior being a 3 point game AT OREGON. Boise has a very strong resume.
  18. True but they get it if they win 21-20 or 51-0.
  19. One thing in PSU''s favor, Oregon gets no advantage from beating up PSU. All they needs is to win.
  20. I don't totally agree on the Boise or SMU thing (different points from each of you) but could be wrong of course. They are both on 9+ game winning streaks. Neither should be bumped for losing the title game (if competitive) especially Boise. What I think and what will happen could be different. But if PSU lost 49-7, random score, they very easily could drop out of the top 10 rankings. A 3 loss Alabama Team may get in over a 2 Loss PSU team.
  21. So who drops out then if Clemson beats SMU in a close game? SMU? Doubt it if PSU gets hammered...and it gives them the chance to keep Alabama in if PSU drops too far. That is the precedent for sports writers suggesting PSU needs to show well. PSU sort of backed into the title game. Boise State is not a forgone conclusion to win either. If they lose, that is someone else who has to go. I think PSU is in trouble if SMU and/or Boise State lose and PSU gets hammered. We are nit picking at random, somewhat unlikely circumstances here but the point of my original post was that if OSU had defeated Michigan, PSU's spot would probably be even more assured.
  22. The wind does me in. 40 and 25MPH wind is worse than 10 and no wind. It is MUCH windier here than Florida.
