  1. How about the "fact" that the reported temps can primarily only raise in odd increments within the 70's and even in the 80's? Talk about a peril...lol.
  2. How hot are Intercourse and Bird-in-Hand going to get?
  3. If you see any authentic/vintage signs, snap them up for me :-)
  4. The models that have been predicting you do NOT hit 90 the last two days are fairly gung ho on you getting close to over the hump. We have not hit 90 yet (this week) over here. I played tennis yesterday afternoon and it was certainly hot regardless of humidity. Some model suites have numerous showers over the LSV this afternoon so that is once issue that may cause problems for a reach of 90.
  5. Good retort! The other thing to remember about this heat wave is that it is not going to meet the definition of how some met's measure it. The World Met Org requires it to be 5 consecutive days and even in the US, where some met's say 3 days is sufficient, it requires high humidity in the North East and I am not sure that has been met either. ----- The World Meteorological Organization, defines a heat wave as five or more consecutive days of prolonged heat in which the daily maximum temperature is higher than the average maximum temperature by 5 °C (9 °F) or more.[6] However, some nations have come up In the United States, definitions also vary by region; however, a heat wave is usually defined as a period of at least two or more days of excessively hot weather.[9] In the Northeast, a heat wave is typically defined as three consecutive days where the temperature reaches or exceeds 90 °F (32.2 °C), but not always as this ties in with humidity levels to determine a heat index threshold.[10] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_wave
  6. The GFS has mostly early fall temps into Mid June....if that will do.
  7. Just a trace of rain here. The heavier cells moved just to the south of us. Down to 85.
  8. Small cells getting started in the Western LSV and Franklin County. Score one for the 3K. Down to 87 from a high of 89.
  9. Yes, if he does not hit 90 tomorrow is it is not only ruined, it is invalidated. It goes from Heat Wave to two yawner AN days. Most of us just west of the LSV have already lost the heat wave designation unless Thursday is a big surprise.
  10. Yea, several of the meso's show a backdoor front charging up to or near Lanco.
  11. Cap City airport has been rolling with 90's since 10:15!
  12. Someday I hope to figure out the HIA phenomena. This rise level seems to go hand in hand with other areas but on so many of these hot days an output of a temp map shows areas well to your south and east being several degrees cooler.
  13. 82 here right now. Same as MDT. Quite a few upper 80's in the HIA area....with low to mid 80's just to their south and east.
  14. 3K has a small line of storms rolling through the southern LSV this afternoon.
  15. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I do not have any experience with the med's you mentioned but I do have experience with hoping and praying people get better so I will be part of that in sending well wishes your way. .
  16. That sounds like an amusement park for HR Managers.
  17. Maxes today: MUI-88 HGR-89 THV-89 MDT-90 LNS-92 CXY-93
  18. I will go out and predict Thursday is no where near 90 for us (or probably the LSV either) so not going to technically score a heat wave with this one.
  19. RGEM was the only model I saw today that was within 3-5 degrees of some of the ob's I am seeing in the LSV. Score one for the Hab's.
  20. We peaked out at 87, jumped a couple degrees between 4 and 430 but down to 86 now. I think tomorrow may my only shot at 90.
