  1. Yep, very rare in "olden times". I did expand the dates back 1850 and it appears this record was first kept as of 1889-1890 season and unbelievable the first record is actual the real record when expanding the selection those 10 years. Feb in 1890. @Itstrainingtime@Festus. This would also bump the total count up to 11 if my eyes counted right. This board must have been a real delight to visit the winter of 1889-1890!
  2. This info appears to be what you are looking for. The records is late January in 2006-2007. It was only back to Jan 2015 when we did not have .1 at MDT until Jan. This output is the earliest and latest when .1" of snow was received at MDT by season. Looks like 10 total Jan's as first snow going back to 1900.
  3. The question from @Festus gave me an idea to go back to the last 2 winter threads for CPA and compare page totals...on page 64 this year and started Nov 30th. Not at all scientific but a good compare as lots of snow would have pushed the page totals up. The threads prior to 2 years ago were done in a different format or started later. 2021-2022 it was Dec 19th when on pages 64 so very close. That thread also started Nov 30th 2020-2021 it was Dec 25th on Page 64 so less activity. Started Dec 1st.
  4. Good call. You have one of the best recall capabilities I have ever seen...whether from memory or records you kept.
  5. Rare time lately where I was almost double digit below you.
  6. 500 actually tries to go negative as the system is passing...it closes off briefly while approaching the area.
  7. Ditto here....one of the colder nights of Dec so far.
  8. Yea, I remember it being part two of the two storm scenario...a bit surprised it showed back up on an OP with part 1 being so drastically different now. I know the GEPS kept suggesting though.
  9. Some of the posters in the MA have been honking about this for days now....a piece of energy rounds the base of the trough and is a classic dip into the GOM and snow on the NE scenario. Euro and GFS do not have it due to fairly large differences in trough position.
  10. Caps record is Stephen Leach in 1990. 10 seconds.
  11. Sports seems to be the main instigator of this OT discussion but more OT posts about "adult subjects" than anything today. Maybe the discussion should be OT in general? I had one post on both subjects so not pointing fingers.
  12. Would have been pretty cool if dowd had set the record.
  13. Well that period deflated the Caps fans a bit.
  14. The 18Z Icon had Tobias Harris leading the Sixers in scoring midway through the second quarter.
  15. Several LSV and near folks would probably pay some $$$$ (Blizz Bucks?) for our yards to look like that right. Congrats.
  16. The 18Z GFS is still quite vigorous in suggesting temps will work out positively for snow on both the front and back end for parts of the LSV. Front end is Western LSV and back is actually more east. Easiest to just post the snow map that covers both events. Still snowing in the western 1/3 and North Central parts of the state at this point.
  17. On the GFS they are primarily out of the West in the 6 hour panel after the front passes.
  18. MU not looking for snow either. He/they do have temps making a running into the mid to upper 50's prior to the front. If that happens CXY may make a run for 60. I do not have access to the models that guestimate flooding potential but lots of streams above normal in the East Central part of the state and a few in the LSV as well. .
  19. We do not get much CAD here either (I am on the other side of the ridges from the LSV), but we had pretty extensive Ice and lots of tree damage just a few hundred feet above me (up the mountain). I am not that familiar with the layout of the Laurels as to who might have received ice. I know Mag had quite a bit. So just wind damage, wow. We never had that much wind here....not damage level at least.
  20. Was the damage from wind while the trees were still encased in ice?
  21. Another trick if on a PC/Mac (not mobile) it is to bring them up on your screen, use a snipping tool to snip a shot of it, then paste it into the post. More cumbersome to do that on mobile though you can do it with a snipping app there as well.
  22. Your titillating reference easy outclasses my offering of vernacular. Well played.
