  1. Do not see the windchill on there but the -7 and 47 is a -40 WC. Absurd.
  2. Latest HRRR continues to drum up below zero in the LSV. Not a fan of it actually. Nothing good can come of it. Risk to animals, peoples houses, etc....and with warmth a few days away, frozen ponds are not a real option either.
  3. My wife wanted to leave our car out this Am to make it easier for her to load. I told her by 10AM you will not be opening the doors as they were wet at that point.
  4. I salute and admire you, my friend. I have Raynaud's so my hands in particular are troublesome so I cannot begin to imagine doing what you are doing.
  5. It is crazy.....we sometimes talk about the lack of snowstorms and sometimes blame it on no cold air but this is right up there with some of the coldest we were will face. I bet someone on this board gets a -10 tonight and someone in or near the LSV gets a -5.
  6. You say that but after being outside and coming in to a 70 degree store, it feels way too warm in the store.
  7. Harrisburg and West under 20 now (and some east but not all). Down to 10 here.
  8. https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=Kmdt You can change the last 3 letters to any station....LNS, MUI, THV, etc. (for anyone else seeing this link, I know you know that).
  9. I was just enjoying the nerdy component of the discussion. That WPC map made it a bit confusing as it showed the front in the Lehigh Valley at 7AM. That seems to have been a bit quick.
  10. MDT just had a gust to 45. Already down to 21 here.
  11. Yea, I was not trying to be persnickety, sorry. To me it looked like the front passed Harrisburg before 8AM. I had initially said it looked like it was in NJ but then I did see the WPC map was an estimate so I yanked that misconception, sorry. I do believe it takes a period of time from front passage for temps mixing down to the surface.
  12. I was reading the surface ob's at MDT as well. The DP started dropping slightly before 8 so that would indicate the front had passed to me. But this is interesting as there is always a delay in temp drop from what I have seen. HRRR has back building of precip well after the front, so I was not just counting on the precip. HRRR has precip in MDT still at noon which is way past the front.
  13. So, you are looking at a +50 drop today if the HRRR is right having you at 0 at midnight. Impressive.
  14. SPC/WPC is insisting the front is entering NJ right now FWIW. Wind direction here changed about 2 hours ago. Not that it really matters but the delay in temp drop is interesting.
  15. The second/reinforcing front looks to come through around 7PM (MDT)
  16. The front itself is well past Harrisburg per SPC and wind direction ob's but the temps always lag a bit behind it. I bet you are below freezing by 10 or 10:30. Winds took on a more westerly component at LNS around 8:20.
  17. Latest SPC (WPC actually I guess) Map which is actually a couple hours behind.
  18. SPC and Surface Ob's suggest the front is in Eastern PA/ NJ right now.
  19. At the very least, the saturated ground is going to freeze like it has not in quite some time.
  20. It was 36 here at 8:20. It is now 32 with a gust of 38 recently. LOTS of water still on the roads....creek at the Rouzerville park is over its banks but not on the road.
  21. Will see how it goes but all the recent HRRR's juice up the front as it passes the LSV.
  22. To me the only saving grace is that the temp drop is a bit delayed for an hour or two once the precip is by. It gets below freezing but not way below until closer to lunch.
