we have been cold from about Nov 10 to today. Lets say 6 weeks.....without looking at models or anything..you would naturally expect the pattern to flip after 6 weeks of the same pattern. Maybe it was wishful thinking to these models that showed an epic late Dec/early January. So yea...mid January makes sense. But waiting that long is going to suck

when is the last time we had a snowstorm during winter. Not counting fall months like November or March.

because all those winters had at least one really good storm in Dec. As did this one...which we missed. Climo says we should have snow on the ground right now

we just went through our driest stretch in forever. No measureble precip at Dulles in 10 days. While we are -4 below normal to start off Dec. One of the most dissapointing starts to winter ive ever witnessed

no other models show this much precip. Euro shows .5 or so
