  1. What makes you think Mets want to do this? They don't get paid for their time and Mets in general post for their area. Sounds like YOU want a big Met family posting all over the regions when they don't. If a storm is approaching I'll read the Mid Atlantic forum and what the Mets and members are posting. Since we're in close proximity to them I'll use my brain, maps and other tools and come to some sort of conclusion. Once it approaches this region I'll start reading what Mets/members are posting in the subforum while looking at temps, maps and such then it unfolds and we post real time weather conditions. I'll tell you right now the majority of people in this forum don't want to merge w/NY forum. Some NY forum members post down here which is cool but to merge and have the complete flock would be hell. I take it you're new here w/limited post. Back in the day there was only one forum w/all regions included and it wasn't good. Separate regions is best. If I want to see what's going on in NY, I click on their subforum. If I want to see what's going on in Mid Atlantic, I click there. Or New England, I click there etc...
  2. I don't think you are....you seem pretty obsessed w/this. I only give a crap (and even then not really) from when I was alive and remember the snowfall. So from 1976 on I remember big snowfalls but to give a shit about 100+yr old storms is kinda nutty. You may need help...
  3. No offense but how hard is it to click other subforums? Their subforum (NY) is a mess and most of us here don't want to sort through their nonsense to find current conditions/forecast and such. I never go to the NY subforum but visit the Mid Atlantic/DC/Balt subforum quite frequently....again it's only a click away.
  4. No sure if you were a member years back (or being sarcastic) but there was just one weather forum for all locations. A real cluster-fvck.... 42F
  5. Did you expect anything different? I'd be happy to get the ground white till we hit 55F+ Saturday...
  6. Severe weather storm spotter link: Winter storm spotter link:
  7. I imagine if it's windy as hell while snowing would create quite a challenge measuring totals among other obstacles. And I understand you probably take one of the more accurate totals out there...
  8. If you're 18yrs of age, have average intelligence, understand and follow the rules you're basically a trained spotter. NWS had classes at one point but the webpage seems to be out or dated... https://www.weather.gov/phi/classes
  9. Not saying it isn't but it's not enjoyable. I rather have freezing rain which coates the trees and roads. Snow that doesn't stick to pavements/roads is unproductive snow...
  10. Accumulating on grass only or falling then melting shortly after/changing to rain isn't much fun. It's going to be too warm... 45F
  11. The nation as a whole is below normal. I'm getting a bad feeling about this winter (not cancel) but something like 10-15"... Where's the snow? Snow coverage in US for early December lowest in 18 years. https://www.accuweather.com/en/winter-weather/wheres-the-snow-comparing-2021s-lack-of-flakes-to-previous-years/1055629
  12. That one does. (across from Anthony's) They literally have a table where you can buy beer, sit down and get shitfaced if you desire. I read it on reddit. Stopped in to use the debit machine and it's true. 44F at 3:50am
  13. Good heavens....I watch "Deadliest Catch" and jones about this climate.
  14. Driving up Northeast extension looks like October...
  15. There was a place after Gavins which closed quickly. I was there on Gavins final night w/o even knowing it was closing. The Wawa across the street just started selling beer. What's the new place called...Anthony's?.Antonios?...something like that. Christ, it's warmer now than at 4pm...56F
  16. I put my "winter jacket" on (idiot) before my walk and quickly went back inside and just put on a flannel. Even then I was getting hot after 5-10min...
  17. Same here.Went for a walk then droplets and I said "what the hell"....wasn't expecting this? 53F
  18. Hitting the 60s on Monday. Then non-stop 40s w/a couple 50s... Drizzle/Sprinkles 54F
  19. Still some leaves on the tree and I'll probably rake/mow for the last time this weekend.I remember not that long ago I would have the lawnmower packed away by early/mid Nov. And Sept is still summer and probably the best time to visit the shore.....less people and cheaper rental rates.
