imo i think the south bleeding finally stopped
Agree. Do you think we see the typical bump north now before start time?

Don't be surprised when the 00z runs end up even further South.
Most school districts around here have already called closings for tomorrow.
I understand what the forecast was showing but there was no need to pull the trigger this early.
18z seems to held serve hopefully things hold or even tick north a bit at 00z

NYC metro and li now have a little wiggle room, hopefully there is a little bump north to bring our friends up north back into it

Wouldn't be so bad for the immediate metro if this didn't also coincide with a weaker storm. Means little in the City without good rates even if in the main band of precipitation.
Models still show the heavy band but it’s over the city and cnj now

HRR crushes metro area and cnj

The mid level lows close off in a very good spot for heavy snow in our area. And the low is still deepening as it passes to our South. The system doesn't occlude until it's way up in Canada.
Imagine we had a good airmass..

See March storms, early April storms, and Nov 2018.
I def remember some march storms sticking, I think Manhattan will be a lot of wet roads but in parts of Brooklyn queens esp Bronx and Staten Island you’ll see roads covered especially with heavy rates
-
Even in flat out cold blizzards in NYC history you don’t see accumulation in Manhattan right away.
-
I’ve lived in outer boroughs my whole life, if we get the rates it will accumulate on roads and sidewalks. Manhattan is toast but all this talk of wet roads is just flat out wrong lol it’s accumulated across NYC with marginal temps and heavy rates plenty of times

The limited accumulation is a direct result of the sun being clearly visible during the snow and the relatively low rates. If this were a heavier snow I don't think it would have been a problem. Sun angle really isn't an issue. There have been several events where it's in the 60s the day before a good snow here that continued through the daytime in February.
Yup sun was out during heaviest rates of day up here

Complete collapse of radar last few frames. Looks like it’s gonna be ending around here soon
