  1. 5" on the dot at the changeover. Much better than I expected.
  2. Beginning to snow here again. Still light. Hoping for at least a brief heavy band again. Would be great to get to 6" before the changover. Never mind, already mixing with sleet.
  3. We lost the good rates about 1/2 hour ago. Man, that was fun during, though. Been a long time since I have seen snow like that imby. Was surprised how well it stuck. When I left for work the same depth of snow was on the road. Wife just reported 4.5" back home.
  4. 3.75" Insane rates right now. If this can keep up for just a couple hours.....
  5. Wow. 3" here. Pouring snow. Feels like a furnace outside.
  6. I have already busted low IMBY. Vis less than 1/8 mile ATM. Heavy, heavy snow. At least 2" on the ground already. Feels like a furnace outside.
  7. Snow on traffic cams as far north on I81 as Edinburg. Ground solidly white in Harrisonburg. Feels like a furnace outside.
  8. Did that before in the mid 80s. I think I was 8th grade, so 1984. Heavy snow started late evening. I think we got several inches before a deluge of rain. And I mean a deluge. Happy Creek in Front Royal got as high as I have ever seen it. Not sure how much river flooding occured. Schools were closed the next day.... not for the snow that was long washed away by first-light, but for the flooding.
  9. Wow. I didn't get anything like that. Hours of non accumulating snizzle, until about 2pm. Decent rates until about 330. Picked up about an inch during that 90 min period. After that it was just pixie dust until after 10 PM. Picked up about another inch over those 7 hours. Really poor ratio snow; it was like sweeping sand. Pretty dense. Remarkable for how long it snowed, but equally for how little I got. The length of this storm (33 hours) nearly matched the '96 storm, but with vastly different results.
  10. Congrats, man! Happy you finally got to experience a great storm.
  11. 7.2". Great storm, but what happened to more snow to the south? Martinsburg with 4" more than me. Lol. Wtf.
  12. Getting some heavier snow now. Small flakes, but coming down. Accumulating. 7.1".
  13. 7". Pixie dust continues to fall, but hardly accumulating. Giving the snow a sparkley blanket.
  14. Yeah, 1.5 or a bit more. Might be able to get to 7. The bands rarely set up over me. Still, great event. 100x better than any event since Jan 2016.
  15. Sounds like an over -performer for the DC crew. Congrats, guys!
