Maybe some severe tomorrow afternoon?
So far this year we have heard barely a rumble of thunder here.- 1

We got just over .1 inch of rain from that line of showers.
Enough to settle the dust at least.

Took my first dip in the pool this afternoon. 72 outside with full sunshine and water was a frigid 44 degrees lol. Only lasted about a minute haha.
Was there shrinkage?

Nice graupel shower during the baseball game yesterday, and a rain/graupel mix on the way to work this morning. Any dry and sunny day would feel great right now.
Same here... I just rode my bicycle to work dressed in full winter gear.
This would be crap weather for mid-March, never mind mid-May.

Honestly in mid-May we don't even need above normal.
Just getting above 50-55F daily highs would feel great.

Yeah, just had something fall with some rain, seemed like sleet not graupel and doubt it was tiny hail as it was light....temps significantly dropped.
I saw it out the window, thought it looked like grauple but I didn't get outside to feel it.

Meanwhile another morning of 40F and drizzle.
Oh joy......

I just dumped the rain gauge.
3.6 inches for this week.
That's a healthy drink.

27° down here this morning.
The fact that we are still "abnormally dry" here is a joke. NYC reservoirs full and spilling, swamps all over my yard. I'd hate to see what we should be. This next rain can miss us to our west and we'll be fine.
Same conditions here....that map is absurd.

Muddy paw season in full effect right now.
I went mountain biking with our Golden this morning.
Some of the trail was actually frozen mud!
But she still needed a hosing off when we got home.

Hellacious drive to work this morning.
Frozen road surface with an inch of powder on top.
More cars off our road into the ditch than I have ever seen at one time.
I think our town has already removed plows and spreaders from their trucks because I don't see them out.

Nice solid cold rain an 39F here this a.m.
Feels like...dare I say...
*Dare, Dare!*
DECEMBER!
Early December perhaps.
Christmas week it would be at least 20F warmer.

Just spent some time perusing our Spring-thread from last year....Wow, it's amazing how things were just a year ago in March.
Differences
1) Stores have more toilet paper now
2) Somebody said "Cuomo was killing it" as governor and he was getting high praise. Hmmmmmm.... (lol)
3) THANK goodness we started a Banter/Discussion thread.....
4) Rochester joined the sucky winter crowd this year.
5) Society was shutting down....on the upswing pretty much exactly a year later. (We thought it would only be a 3 to 6 week shut down at this time last year...lol)
Cuomo was indeed killing it....I just don't think they realized what the "it" was at the time!

If it's that obvious that these changes need to be made why would you wait 3 years to implement?

April is certainly the cruelest month in upstate NY.
Just when you think you're out of winter.....they pull you back in!
I can already see it coming when we are all enjoying 55F and warm bright sunshine next week.

Man, looks to be REALLY, really Spring like. I might be out of luck with my ski trip, March 12....ADK’s
Downhill? Nordic?
We were up there last week and there was bountiful snow.

I took my kids out to the bus this morning and told them to look around at all the snow........this is our maximum snow depth for the year, for sure.
After today it's all downhill.
I give this winter an A- for our area. I'm into the winter sports and so my grade depends on snowpack and ski conditions. We had week of good skiing in December, and then January and February have been continuous with excellent pack and excellent surface conditions.
If we could have kept winter going until mid-March I would have gone with the A grade.

We cannot eliminate the possibility that we've seen the winter max for 2021.
Can you explain how that could happen in February?
Thanks.- 1

To me it had the classic feel of Halloween weather this morning.
