I had a huge moth fly in when I opened the door a short while ago. At first I thought it was a bat. The pattern on its wings is gorgeous and the wing span was probably 5-6". Fortunately I was able to get it back out without injuring it.
I did a Google image search and found that it is a Polyphemus Moth which is the giant silk moth family.
The gypsies are coming. The Redcoats are coming. Hear the drum beats get louder

Good thing its not 96/72 or you would be smelling it for 10 miles in either direction
That’s not far from me. There’s many days on a WnW wind the smell does make it from the farms in Smellington

I said a lot of areas should have half inch or more. Seems doable in many areas.

Your LESCO wishes it lived here.
Was afraid of this yesterday. Maybe more from tomorrow's storms/hailers?

Another modeled soaker that ends up turning into .25-.50 for SNE. Not good.
This thing is in in and out by noon

It will die, might survive the season . At least one of every five Oaks defoliated last year is dead . Here's one I took down this morning .
Well this one has been partially eaten the last 3 years. But they haven’t totally defoliated it . It does have some dead branches. Still have a few more weeks of eating to go, but the population is much lower this year in general. I think on this tree the nests were up in the canopy . You’re a tree guy right.. does that partial eaten look now seem enough to kill it?

Glad we don’t live there

This is one of the harder hit Oaks in yard by gypsies. Overall coverage less than last year , but some trees taking a hit . Kind of weird

Round 2 of Lesco went down this morning. As dry as it’s been lawns around here are starting to show signs of stress.. so I had to wait until I knew a good .25-.50 was coming which fingers crossed happens tomorrow

They came to Northampton once like eight years ago. Maybe once the casino opens in Springfield we have a shot of getting the eastern folks here?
They just like to hold them around the holidays and they don’t travel so it hurts many
