  1. That temp in crossville does not bode well for anything but rain and frezzing rain. Was hoping that clouds would have come in this morning and keep the temp down but that has not happened.
  2. Looks like for the Knoxville Area the advisory is for freezing Rain. I hate that. It will make everything a mess. Hope they are wrong and we can pull off some surprise.
  3. It has been sleeting Here in West Knox. for the last hour on top of the 9 Inches of snow. Now setting @ 23.
  4. I am @ 9in in West Knox. Might get 1 more inch and get to double digits with the snow showers that will move through but I think that will be the limit unless I am missing something. It was a wild ride. The Snow is going to be around for a long time. It is a beautiful snow. I will try to upload my pics if I can get the file size down small enough.
  5. I can not believe I am saying this again but we are getting the bigest rates of the day in West Knox.

  13. Here in Knoxville I have about an inch maybe a little bit more. Our roads are struggling to get covered. We need harder rates to make that happen. So far IMBY in West Knoxville the snow has been very fine and light. We look to have some bans that are heavier set to move in
  14. Sorry to hear. I lived in southeast TN growing up, In the Cleveland to be exact and I feel your pain. I hear a lot of guys talk about storms of the past and many of them we just rain for me. I don’t know if I would give up on this one but like I said I understand.
  15. Radar is lighting up to Knoxville’s south and West believe the Maine Event is going to start. Fingers crossed. Woke up this morning expecting the big totals and it must of stoped right after my last look out the window. We have about a half inch and no snow falling now. According to MRX that should change by 9AM. We will see.
  16. It has almost completely stoped hear in Knoxville. We have about a half inch. Hopefully something changes or we are going to way underperform.
  17. We need some more ump to our rates. We have had steady snow from around 8 oclock and here in West knox I am just aproching a half inch. I am at 28 and our roads are clear.
  18. Sidewalks and decks turning white. Happening fast.
  19. Tiny dust speck flakes in West Knox. Mybe real dust flakes! Yes they are real.
  20. Good to Know. Told you I was dangerous with my limited knowledge. Don’t want anyone to jump off a cliff because of me.
  21. MRX would sure bust with their new totals map if that map verifies.
  22. One thing I like about this forum is how everyone treats each other with respect. You can be someone like me that has just enough knowledge to make me dangerous, all the way up to pro mets or their equivalent like @energyjeff and Carver. It’s a real prize and we all need to guard ourselves always making sure we treat each other as we want to be treated. Keep it up and lets get this storm dialed in. As an aside. I think it is even more impressive that our forum is such a good space besides the fact that we have so so much disappointments with all the different mico-climates.
  23. Well, here we are sitting before a possible historic storm especially when you consider the temps behind the storm. So being who I am, I am always thinking about what could go wrong. I don’t have the expertise to get into the technical details but I remember one particular painful fail that took place @ least 15 or 20 years ago. I lived in Athens and Neal Pascal was the meteorologist @ channel 9 in Chattanooga, a very good Met. We had WSW over the entire area. Everyone was sure we were going to get many inches. I watched the Radar as it approached and a few flakes started coming down I expected the lower Atmosphere to quickly saturate and we would be in business. I waited and waited and waited. I never saw another flake all day. We had a huge snowstorm that never reached the ground. There was high pressure to the north that just kept feeding the dry air into the lower levels, at least that is how I understand it, and the moisture could never overcome it. This was the biggest bust ever remembered and excuses were flying This storm however is going to move forward because it is our time.
  24. What is the light snow coming in to West TN and Southern KY. associated with.
