  1. And I am told we will be able to trust AI. I guess my point is why even do it if it just muddies the water.
  2. I will take 7.2 inches over my, less than one inch possible point forecast. To bad, we really can't lock it in. It is strange to me that the NWS would have me under a WS warning and be calling for less than one inch of dry snow that will blow away with the wind. I know that they don't even believe their own forecast or the warnings would not be out. Whats is the point. Maybe I am being too hard, but I think it is partly why they are ridiculed so much. Ok I promise I will not complain anymore.
  3. Then why put it out? Is this because of their budget cuts? Everything runs late?
  4. Case in point, however they always do this unless they don't. As we all know we live in days that nothing makes much sense.
  5. I think we all have been watching this rodeo for quite a while and we all know the things that can go right anf wrong and there is just so much you can say.
  6. Where did you get these graphics from? I can not find them anywhere?
  7. Mine went to less than an inch. Why would you issue a winter storm warning for an inch or less. It must be computer junking up their point forecast.
  8. That sure is a nothingburger for Knoxville as well. I would get less than an inch with that..
  9. I am in Cedar Bluff area of Knoxville and my point forecast is, "An inch or less possible, maybe, if everything goes perfect, fat chance.
  10. I am surprised that it being 24 hours out that MRX has not updated surrounding areas to a WWA and for that matter included a few counties around the present WSW with advisories. I guess however, knowing how conservative they are it reflects their normal movements.
  11. I thought I was going to move to Russia to get those totals, glad I am not an impulsive person. LOL.
  12. MRX pulled the trigger and issued a Winter storm Watch for Knoxville East.
  13. John 1122 always finds a way. I can not stop looking at this. It even looks better now. I might like that low a little farther north right under Atlanta. I remember a time when I was younger and lived in Cleveland. I had not been paying attention to the weather. I was sitting at a streetlight and all of a sudden the sky seemed to fall, and it was full of giant fatties. It was like no flakes at all and then boom, the sky was full of giant flakes. The set-up was like the one we have now. And I remembered thinking how i could not believe we were getting snow in such cold temperatures with a low so far away over cape Hatteras.
  14. One thing I have learned is not to expect anything that Carver does not see happening. So this tells me how to set my expectations.
  15. I know it does not mean much, but it is nice seeing the broad Weather map from The weather prediction center showing at least parts of East TN in the heavy snow possibility/. Morristown must not be buying it, at least not yet..
  16. Oh, my it sounds like we are in the same place we are always in two days from a storm. No one knows if we are going to get zip or if we are going to get a good dry powder dump. i remember back in 93 living in Chattanooga, and we had a meteorologist that I really liked, Neal Pascal. We had been told for the most part we were going to have a big storm for a week. I had a friend from Fla that had never been in a real snow, and he wanted it to happen so bad. Then right before the storm hit Neal did or said something on one of his updates right before the storm that gave the impression that it was not going to be all that bad, and some might not get much at all. It was such a gut punch that we took off up to the skyway down near Tellico. Bad decision. We barely made it home that evening. I just can not imagine living somewhere that when snow is forecast you can count on it.
  17. My house is just 1000 feet. I must have got lucky. Even our roads are white.
  18. Yes my snow has turned to big flakes and our yard is white. I live near Cedar Buff area. Dimes to Nickel size Snowing harder than anytime during the main storm.
  19. We just hit 31 with heavy mist falling. Yep, it is going to be a disaster by tomorrow if this keeps up much longer with the falling temperatures.
  20. I am glad I am not sitting in the dark. Back in the storm of 93 We had 7 kids 6 and under and 7 adults representing 5 different families in our house. We had a wood stove and gas to run all our water and cooking stoves. It was an experience that I would never want to give up or repeat.
  21. The front is really racing across the state. I wonder how wild the passage of it is going to be?
