  1. I have keep thinking returns are getting better. I live in the Cedar Bluff area, and it seems like I am at a cutoff point. I maybe have a fourth of an inch. I took a little drive towards Halls, and they have at least an inch or more as far as it looks I did not get out and measure. I hope we are going to start getting those better returns soon
  2. I have a little over a quarter of an Inch. Most of that came down very early, just shortly after dark. It has been snowing without stopping very very lightly with tiny flakes.
  3. One thing you want from me is to make a comment and most likely the opposite will happen. So cheer me on.
  4. We are just getting almost nothing in West Knox even though I am in the 4 to 5 inch area. It is hard to bet against Carver, I just don't think we are going to get a lot of help from the east low. Could be wrong, but it's not looking good on Radar People like John can score on these events, but I think this is mostly going to be an extream cold wringing out moisture event.
  5. Looking east of me in west knox it seems the Radar wants to build in. It will kind of pulse and make you think it is going to then backs off. Just Don't have enough knowledge to know what or if this means anything. I know we have got a little less than a half inch, and we need it to fill in much more to get more than that.
  6. If we don't get some heaver rates like we were getting about an hour ago we will not make it to an inch. It is so fine that you can not even see it under our sodium vapor streetlamp unless you block the glare. That is some slow rates.
  7. Looks like a Good slug of moisture is about to come into the Oak Ridge area. Right now in Knoxville it is very very light fine snow.
  8. That is beautiful Hope to take some of those here at out place.
  9. It did not take long here in West knox The roads are already getting white in certain spots.
  10. We are already getting white roofs. I guess the sun was filtered enough not to make much difference.
  11. I have the opposite problem. I have good returns but nothing falling.
  12. I thought I might have seen a flake, but it could have been a flake of dandruff.
  13. And yet they put out the strongest wording for the Winter Storm Warning, Especially for the I 40 corridor.
  14. Yeah I have sun here again in Knoxville. Without anything falling, I am beginning to get nervous that we are not going to overcome this.
  15. Not to say anything like this is going to happen, but I remember one event or rather non-event when I lived in Athens. We had super cold air, i think it was a week or so before we got the big sleet storm. We had a Winter storm warning out for multiple inches of dry snow. That morning I woke up and watched Bill Race, and he was saying it would not be long until the snow saturated the air, and we would be getting snow at a good rate. I remember looking out and seeing a snowflake fall and thought it's starting. It was the only flake I saw all day. We ended up getting zilch. It was the biggest bust I can remember.
  16. Snowing to beat the band on top of me in Knoxville, but none is reaching the ground.
  17. We are getting a solid cloud deck here in Knoxville for the first time today, and radar is closing up the hole around MRX's site.
  18. Not much of an update from MRX. Pretty much holds serve. It is nice seeing the words Heavy Snow from them.
  19. I have seen the sun shine like this before, especially with systems like the one we are having. The sun will be out right up until it clouds over and the snow starts falling. Don't really know why it happens like that in the valley, but often it does.
  20. I I am still getting very light sky cover with sunshine in West Knoxville around Cedar Bluff, I thought the first precipitation was supposed to be coming in around 10, but they must have pulled that timetable back.
  21. Is someone going to start an orbs. Thread? Might be a good idea. I have nice bright sunshine here in Knoxville. Don't want that snow to sneak up on me.
  22. Sun is out here in Knoxville, I was hoping that would not happen so when it started we would have a quick road covering. You get what you are handed. Temps will probably skyrocket because of this.
  23. I wonder if any of the snow on Radar is reaching the ground? Usually I look at if the radar has filled in right near the radar site to know if it has saturated the column, but I am not used to having air this dry and cold.
