  1. National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 944 AM EST Sun Jan 25 2026 .WHAT HAS CHANGED... Lowered temps in the CAD and warmed them along the TN border. Kept the timing of precip changes basically the same. Storm totals are now additional amounts expected through the afternoon. Precip has mostly transitioned to rain in the mountain valleys west of the Balsams, and the Ice Storm Warning has been cancelled for a portion of this area. Rabun-Macon-Southern Jackson-Transylvania-Henderson-Rutherford Mountains-Polk Mountains-Oconee Mountains-Pickens Mountains- Greenville Mountains- Including the cities of Mountain Rest, Pine Mountain, Cedar Mountain, Clayton, Chimney Rock State Park, Franklin, Dana, Tuxedo, Saluda, Mountain City, Wolf Mountain, Kyle, Rainbow Springs, Etowah, Little River, Rocky Bottom, Cashiers, Hendersonville, Brevard, Highlands, Glassy Mountain, Fletcher, and East Flat Rock 932 AM EST Sun Jan 25 2026 ...ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Damaging icing expected. 2. Power just flickered 6 times in 30 seconds. Nah man. NOPE.
  3. Looks like a few hours break in the precip before the final round. Hopefully we can get above freezing by then.
  4. Still sitting at 25 with light ZR. It can stop anytime now, please.
  5. Forgive my lack of a ruler. LOL! Averaging .30-.35 across the yard. Pouring at the moment.
  6. Up to 25 here. HRRR says Henderson County riding the wedge until the end. FFS.
  7. Starting to add up a little too quickly here for my liking. Going back out to measure shortly. Especially with the precip still forming to the SW feeding right into the area.
  8. Moderate to heavy ZR just moved in again. Temp still hanging at 23.
  9. Just measured limbs at the hours in the yard. About an average of .20in ZR. Sitting at 23/22.
  10. Looks like we'll get a break to mist/zr from 11AM-1PM or so before the bulk of the precip moves in. That cold down here and along the escarpment doesn't look to retreat until the last 30 minutes or so and then switch to rain. Going to head out soon and see what I've got on the branches. They are drooping.
  11. Up to 23 here now. ZR has lightened up but that's better for accumulation. Might have dodged a bullet here! Not sure yet. That cold air does not want to get out down here.
  12. Patiently awaiting the "storm busts" posts when this is absolutely we want to bust.
  13. Man... outside lanterns, shrubs,... are already glazed. I did not expect it this early.
  14. All ZR here now. And steady. Exactly what I did not want. 28/10.
  15. Spitting sleet here with barely anything showing on radar.
  16. You can feel that CAD breeze coming down here.
  17. Latest from GSP: ...ICE STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST MONDAY... * WHAT...Damaging icing expected. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...The mountains of northeast Georgia, upstate South Carolina, and portions of southwest North Carolina. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Monday. * IMPACTS...Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. Ice covered roadways will become treacherous and impassable. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ice accumulations will rapidly increase late tonight into Sunday morning, possibly tapering off by Sunday evening. 18. Was hoping for a burst of now but sleet it is here now.
