  1. That last deform band on the 12z HRRR really wants to juice up as it heads over the mountains. Just a little more east than I would like to get 1 last little thump down here.
  2. Lightly coming down now. Radar isn't impressive. If I can squeeze out 1in, I'll be happy!
  3. 33/23 here. Cloud deck lowering. Looks like we're about 10 minutes from seeing some snow start falling.
  4. 256 PM EST Tue Feb 18 2025 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM WEDNESDAY TO NOON EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected in the North Carolina mountains and far northeast Georgia. Total snow accumulations mostly under an inch in the valleys and 1 to 3 inches on ridgetops. Ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
  5. SREF plumes mean is 2.68 for KAVL: https://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/sref/srefplumes/
  6. Well, we're up to 44/16 right now. Kind of hoped the cloud cover this AM would've trapped those 20's in so we didn't get this warm
  7. Maybe we can still get a surprise out of this, but not looking like it's going to be much. Will be nice to see some flakes falling during the day again, no doubt! I am still feeling the past year's snow droughts, so I will take anything I can get this winter!
  8. Agreed. For now, Wednesday is mostly looking like a small even. A nice taste of winter for those who have missed out to the east. Still within two days but it pulled back a lot.
  9. 12Z Euro not as impressive along with the last couple of runs. Need this thing to CRANK earlier.
  10. Lets lock in the 12z EURO and call it a WINTER. And it's within almost... 4 days. I'll take it!
  11. I swear I saw some snowing driving back up my mountain from AVL. AVL was sitting at 38 at the office, I am at 32 here but just rain now.
  12. Nothing here yet, but I can see it coming in close from my view. I'd say about 5 miles away. 1 minute later: Moderate snow!
  13. The 12Z Canadian is beautiful. Considering those tend to trend north a bit.
  14. Ended up with 4.2IN here. A nice little event! .
  15. Ice is winning out here with fat flakes mixed in. Hopefully not for long!
  16. Biggest flakes of the day! Must mean I am near the boundary. If I can avoid the warm nose, might actually pull off 4IN!
  17. Still pouring snow here. Wild. Would love another 2-3 hours of this.
  18. Closing in on 2.5 here. Might make it to 3?!
  19. Absolutely dumping here.... man, what a sight to see! Finally!
  20. I'd say easily the heaviest rates of the day so far here. Hope we can hang on for a while!!
  21. Rates kicking back up here again. Back to moderate snow, fat flakes.
