    Fun event. Starting with a quick inch of snow this morning, a 7-8 hour nonstop sleet fest for about three inches of concrete (as hard as I’ve ever seen it sleet at times) a dash of freezing drizzle at the end and now a backside band bringing a dusting on top. Saw it all in one day but kept power! Just enough zr to make the trees pretty. Congrats again to the Upstate folks that finally got the big W in one of these! .

    Modeling says that block rotating through Charlotte fizzles before it gets over the Triad, hope it holds together. .

    I’m hoping climo is our friend and we hang onto sleet all the way through. .

    Straight HARD sleet in Gibsonville for hours. Maybe 2.5 inches and counting. Not a drop of ZR yet (crosses fingers). . When you get enough sleet to fully cover the grass, you are getting somewhere lol.

    Excited for the Upstate crew. I know you guys have been in the screw zone a ton over the last decade. Look to catch the bullseye here. Our bit of snow followed by Pingermageddon will still be fun! After the last few winters, I’ll happily take what we can get. .

    Another interesting micro feature to me will be what that little finger on Saturday across Northern NC does. A decent dusting could help hold temps down a hair, which would make a world of difference.

    No wonder I heard it so clearly. That’s maybe 3 blocks from me. Looks from that like it almost went right down University Dr. So yeh, y’all can stuff that bust talk, at least here. Very glad I knew well in advance and had wife, daughter and our cats tucked away.

    Dunno if it was confirmed but I’d be shocked if there wasn’t one immediately west of Gibsonville. I heard the damn thing. Constant thunder/freight train like rumble that tracked ENE around my neighborhood as the storm peaked. Clear as day. Lined up with the hook that split between us and Whitsett. . Damage on Spring Hope Church Rd lines up with that. Looks like it went back up and then touched again near downtown Burlington.

    How does that map happen? Did the Charlotte corridor just catch a stalled band? I was a sophomore at UNC at the time and remember that storm well but had no idea it dropped up to 20 inches 50 or less miles from me. .

    December 2018 here. To be fair, we scored huge just NW of the mixing line (gotta be close enough to smell the pingers!) and I walked with 14 inches but it was three friggin winters ago! .
