I know the euro op was weak sauce for the day 10 threat but the eps has an unusually strong signal around days 8-10 for a nice hits (around next weekend). Lots of pornographic ensemble members still showing up.
How pornographic are we talkin'?.....is it just Stormy Daniels hot?....or really steamy?

That was mild compared to some of his rants. He would get so frustrated he would disappear for weeks at a time....only to pop back up just long enough to bust a few more blood vessels...then he would get banned for a few months.

It sucks that the only long range met discussions that go on this site are mostly in the MA and NE forums. We have very little discussion about long range, weeklies, etc. So I go over to their discussions to see if I can extrapolate what might happen here from what the buzz is over there.
Well, fwiw to our back yard, according to the MA and NE mets, once again the weeklies are even more epic than the ones last week, which were more epic than the ones a week before that, which were more epic than the week before that....and yes more epic than....well you get the idea.
...and yet through it all the MA and NE have an even greater snowfall futility to date than many of us....which in istself is an amazing feat.
I'm assuming that the deafening quiet on our forum is an unsettling reality that the trough axis is probably forecasted, (in this upcoming 'epic' period), to be too far east for us to get anything much more than a good cirrus smoking during the seemingly inevitable parade of KU's, HECS's, and BEC's that the eastern weenies are being told to strap themselves in for.
oh well, cue pondo's, I-should-have-never-left-philly-rant , in....3...2...1...
Great weenies think alike. My winter weather lustiness has been spent on the Mid Atlantic forum as well. So much so that I have developed a kindred spirit with the likes of Ji, Bob Chill and Yoda. Sad! We Lakes/OV crew must have other diversions when these putrid patterns persist. Over there...they treat every run like its the Lotto numbers being televised on Saturday night...even though there is no winter weather in sight. Dozens of pages a week on long term threads that yield nothing but broken hearts. Here.....virtually nothing. If winter does deliver later this month....the gods may well bless the M. Atlantic...and thumb her nose at us. After all we have other things in our lives....at least those who don't spend their dreams in the Mid Atlantic with Ji.

Mother nature observed all of the prognosticators bellowing an epic winter for the east. She listened to the hype all November into early December. Then she said....I have other plans. Then as December came and went with only a whimper...the forecasters cried....the hounds of winter will come calling mid January. Mom nature may have other plans. The new replacement GFS operational for mid January...as of noon 12/28.....man that's one ugly Pacific.....

After years and years of following the weather....I have seen this play out many times. Persistence...more times than not...rules the winter. Sure, there are exceptions..and maybe this will be the winter. But, if I had to wager right now....my bet is that January will be little different than what we have seen in December. For all the rejoicing about long range modeling, MJO cycles, SSW events, SOI and ENSO showing a cold, snowy pattern in January....the models are now beginning a retreat. The optimistic are shouting the delayed....but not denied credo. I have adopted a perverse acceptance of fate... and even getting a mild laugh at the Mid Atlantic weenies (home of the forum's most neurotic and pessimistic) as they begin their march towards the cliff. I hope I am wrong....but my bet is already placed.

EE, pretty sad what we Daytonians have to settle for snow at Christmas....but its better than sun and 50 I guess....Merry Christmas to all and to all a snowy January through March!

Soul crushing. We just came off weeks of below normal temps and days of flakes flying around. Now we'll watch a 989 low slowly travel from central WV to 983 over CLE and nothing but rain followed by a few backend flakes.
This is why I root on torches in winter.
Amazing how cruel the winter witch can be to Ohio......

EE it would be our luck that a great track in December for us Northern Ohio Valley folk would occur during a too warm environment. Long way away...I believe our time won't come till Christmas week and later.....

I noticed

LB, noticed same and mildly excited for our area around Dayton....even though the official NWS for us has no mention of snow today....just rain. The HRRR has it switching in an hour or two. We will see.

I think one reason for the epic cold on some of the maps is this......
