it's still one hell of a scenic spot

I was jawing with a construction super at a site in Springfield today and he said he had been up in Stowe over the weekend, had an incredible time, drove the notch, stayed down by Smuggs, several syrup house and infused distillery stories, non-stop rave about how great it was, the people, the food, the booze.

Oh 100%… plenty of stuff to do and it still looks like fall foliage.  Sounded like Jerry had a good time too and I finally got to put a face to the name after all these years.

Normally I fight back when we have the usual discussion of every year the foliage is dull, because even lackluster is quite nice.  But I’ve never seen it quite like this.

Very dry.  Multiple frosts and freezes.  Now two days of mid-80s.  The vegetation is just giving up; try again next year lol.

yikes....Northern or southern portion? The issues are Avon and south, Buxton/Rodanthe areas

My cousin's have a place in Waves, NC like smack in the middle... we might be at their place on Thurs/Fri but then up north for the wedding in the Nags Head/Kitty Hawk area.

If correct, the OBX is going to take another one to the chin after losing 9 homes in the coastal storm/Erin situation....Hopefully what ever forms throws a ton of moisture up this way, after the weekend of course.

I'm heading down to the Outer Banks this weekend for a wedding, ha.

Deep summer look and vibe there . Can’t be too many inground pools in the entire state of VT . Much less Central VT

    High of 86F today.

I'd wager Stowe has a lot of them, ha.  They are everywhere at all the $1-3 million spots... but once you get to the $10-$20+ million properties they are all indoor pools.

Here's the Kellogg's house (cereal family).  I can't even imagine that level of wealth.

Up in Stowe this week.  Looking for freak on the streets but no sighting so far…

On our drive up yesterday I was astounded at how far along the foliage was in southern NH/VT, less further north.  Lots of color where we’re staying in Stowe.  Staying at an Airbnb-beautiful setting.  Daughter flew on from Chicago yesterday and we picked her up at BTV.  Sunset behind the Adirondacks was spectacular.  Cooler today though but still nice.

Was in Ludlow today, looks like NOV in spots on the drive over. Okemo 50% Leaf drop the rest brownish some yellow.

Still some rogue patches of color, but I would avoid that area if your looking at leaf peeping this weekend and certainly Columbus day.

It’s so early, it has to be drought related.  I’ve said it a few times but was shocked in Mt Snow area like 10 days ago.

Later up here but town is looking meh with a lot of leaf drop in spots.  Kind of going yellow/gold/rust and falling.  The Worcester Range on the east side of town and the Spine was looking decent, in the right lighting.

I think it has to be drought related.  I noticed it even on 89 from like Mreaves area down through Brookfield and the high terrain there is past peak too.
