Given the last several months here, I’m expecting whatever scenario produces 0.05, because that’s what this will end up being.

Ha, you guys are funny.  DIT thinking it’ll split around him and rain heavily eastern Mass or Berkshires westward… you are like nope, won’t rain heavy in E.MA.

I have no idea what it’ll do, but it reads like everyone has a different reason for why it won’t rain in a particular gridpoint .

  2. Black flies exploded today at they were biting on the mountain.  Very little wind, maybe they’ve been around but the past two days had next to none… today I felt like I was their deep fried Turkey thigh at a rural county fair.  Just getting devoured.

It's called let it be summer and get some thunder booms for our rain, not Newfoundland's rain

It’s early June… take the water?  Wait for the hit/miss season in July/August.  See what Stein has to say, ha.

The 2-m rolling temp anomalies stayed above normal in the means too on the GEFS, so probably some dews and elevated mins.  Likely the period averages out above normal as it always does.

Anyway, another beautiful sunny June day in the 70s and low 80s this afternoon (above normal).

Lots of people with confused emojis. Back to back nor’easters. I guess that’s COC.

    Wouldn’t the rain be beneficial?

Its like on one hand everyone wants to complain about it being dry but also doesn’t want any rain from May to October lol.

    June is an underrated month.

I was thinking about that today... most certainly an underrated month.  Sneakily becoming one of my favorites over the last several years.

The long daylight, mix of air masses, mostly the long daylight, ha.  Hanging out at the picnic tables on the Octagon Deck at 5-6pm today and it felt like the middle of the afternoon because the sun doesn't set for 3 hours.

Average valley temps this time of year are 72/47, seasons in seasons for the win.

for some reason I don’t think the travel guide has pics of rotting snow piles

The irony is it should... those things are like magnets to tourists and locals alike.

There are still a couple good piles along the Toll Road from when it was plowed off by the snowcats at the end of the season.  Found a dozen people on one the other day with 7 cars stopped alongside.  Like they found the last Infinity Stone.

A year later they sent me to this day camp-circa summer of 1953.   A torrential rainstorm for 3 days ended up with mud turning the lake brown.  Cool wet summer.  No thank you.

Sounds terrible.  It seems almost physically impossible at this point to get a cool wet summer relative to normal.  So we’ve got that going for us.

Even June is already above normal.  Been very comfortable and nice weather… but yet +1 to +3 the last few days.

Most folks feel like we do . Sure you’ve got a few oddballs that like cold sweatshirt weather in summer and mornings like this, but in the grand scheme most want hear and humidity. I.e.. seasons in seasons

Honestly this weather the last week or two feels like it couldn’t be anymore seasons in seasons.  Haven’t checked any departures though.

We get hot and humid in August and September these days, lol.  Feels like late May and early June are about as they should be… seasons in season.

Don’t you remember those hot days as a kid?? How much fun they were?

Honest to god those were the best days. I hated that when I was in my 20s and 30s, but now that I see how much fun my kids have in the summer heat.....it reminds me of my days. I enjoy the warmth.

I hate to say it, but I agree with Kevin here. I’ve changed and I embrace the swamp ass.

I also enjoy the heat waves and stretches of 2-3 days at a time where you are like wow, this is hot.

I definitely enjoy those more than I used to but for what NNE outdoor activities are in summer, unless you are sailing on Lake Champlain there’s a lot more fun to be had at like 82/55.

Luckily we can all have our preferences and it isn’t 90F every day from May to October.

  10. It's been having an early-warm season type of vibe lately with the bright green vegetation.  Some days are more humid and buggy, some are crisp and breezy.  A drier day.

There's been some awesome, crisp afternoons.  Today was low RH, low dew point, warm (sun is strong this time of year), classic chamber of commerce stuff.  Travel Guide vibes.

One thing we be can bet on, summers are becoming a pain for ACATT. Embrace AGW.

It is becoming warmer, we’ve tipped it that way.  Many installing A/C where it was rare.  There are a lot of days that are comfortable, but more and more are torching.  Today was not one of them though.  For those solidly into the humid bubble in the means, it makes sense to embrace it fully.  It’ll come up here.

All the good memories are made from hanging out extra late in the warm muggy evenings with fire flies trying to be caught, pool or beach, or even the sprinkler as the adults sit back and have a good time.
Nobody remembers the day little john had to wear a sweat shirt as he roller blades down rt 108 from 10-10:30 before it rained for the rest of the day in Stowe.

Love it ha.  Enjoy Disney… your kids will remember that for a long time. That experience is supposed to be hot and humid with water parks, pools, etc.  Florida has the summer vibe.

Enjoy! It was horrible up here today. Bluebirds skies, temperature in the low 70s with dew points in the fifties. We managed...

Sometimes you feel for the kids who aren’t allowed to play outside if it doesn’t involve a pool.  Just looking out the window as little Timmy skates by on rollerblades to the neighborhood street hockey game.  They look the other direction and see a basketball game going on street side with their buddies from the school bus.

Poor kids just yearning to go outside and enjoy the warm season activities but instead are kept inside until it’s hot and humid enough to swim somewhere.

Warm and humid at Disney. Warm evening with Tippy CU and kids playing in pool as summer should be. Not singing around a camp fire in Carhatts and a sweat shirt.

    Is it summer?

It was a terrible day up here though. No one should be subjected to the horrors of awesome outdoor activities like golf, hiking, mountain biking, kids playing kickball, softball and lax games, etc.

  15. My folks sent me this from Woodstock, CT… they noticed a rock that seemed to be moving in their front yard and had a massive snapping turtle laying eggs all over their mulch beds.

Bottom of this photo just above the grass.  She laid eggs all over the top of the mulch bed up top of hill.

Then she went on the long journey back to the lake.  Across the road.

Then fell off 4 (!) different retaining walls.  Went right over and in the video the thud noise is hilarious.  Like dropping a rock onto a lawn.  Got up after each fall and walked off the next wall.

Man, seemed cloudier than that here.

I'm realizing just how lucky we got up this way.  I hadn't looked at area weather... figured it was a moving round of showers (passed by early this morning) and was cruising SEward given the NW breezes we felt here.

The precipitation and convergence zones seemed to stall and continue to regenerate south of I-89 and over into NH.  I had no idea, felt like a nice warm season Friday evening.

Wait what??? It’s dreary here. Steady rain all day, 50s. About 5” of rain in the past 3 weeks - on the upside, the green is absolutely magnificent

We had some rain earlier today but it’s been nice all afternoon.  Likewise I think we had like 5” in May.  I saw some spots up near the Canadian border near Jay had like 7”+ on the month.

The green is absurd.  The higher elevations still have that “fresh green” look as they only leafed out like in the past two weeks… and the steady diet of soaking rain just has it like neon green.

Radar loop has had a decent showery afternoon from C.VT up into your area.  We managed to clear out.

Dogs are amazing, they don't sulk they just do what they have to, we can learn some lessons from dogs.

Dog could’ve just broken their leg but hears a noise in the kitchen… “Was that the cheese and deli drawer I just heard open?  Was that the fu*king cheese drawer?!  LFG!  Even if I had zero working legs I’m getting into that kitchen right now.”

They seem to have zero memories of an injury for whatever reason.  Even after my lab fully wrecked her knee and came up lame, she was more concerned in that moment with a few kibbles I had in my pocket than her leg just hanging off her body.
