If I never see snow in October and November again Ill be thrilled, not sure what the coloration is with early snow and the lack luster winter that follows is but I can do without snow till Late December if it leads to a decent winter. It pains me to think we have a month and a half of this before we start the push towards Spring, I for one am hoping for a milder and drier Early spring.

It seems as though central and western Pa have done well with this pattern so why not keep it going.

I keep trying to tell myself well we have February and March to go yet and we will get snow, I mean a decent storm 6"+. also this year Ive been try to learn what the atmosphere is doing and how to read the patterns its quite complicated to say the least EPO, PNA, NAO, MJO makes my head spin at my age, If the common person just knew what it takes to actually get snow in the Northeast let alone a big storm they would understand the forecasting difficulties. Not being the expert but just looking at things from afar it seems that trends in weather cannot be denied this year the theme is Cold dry-mild wet-cold dry. Keep up the good work Wiggum, Newman, and all the other regular posters on here Im trying to figure this all out.

I kinda agree all this wasted cold for nothing to show but frozen ground isn't gonna cut it for me, and I sure don't want a March like last year if it snows Id like it to last at least a week.

Looking more and more like next weeks storm is following the trend so far this season big rain maker then cold. But hey Interesting times are ahead
-
Either way interesting times ahead!!
Seems like we've been saying that for weeks now. I fear those times aren't really coming

Yeah wish it was only 3 days out instead of 7, here we go again

27 and falling. Down from 38@ 11am

38 with light rain, ended up with 1.25 snow, leaves my total for winter 2.25. If we are counting November then 9.25. I’m not sure we had the heavy rain still have snow on walks and grass, as per Mt Holly temps down to 17 by 5pm.

32 dp31 moderate snow

34 dp24 with snow

You guys in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County take note. Here in Schuylkill, State College downgraded the warning to an advisory for 1-4 inches of mixed precipitation. Not sure if Mt Holly will follow suit in the transition counties or not, but just wanted to share it with you all...
Yup right on cue, 2-4
-
5-11 to 4-6 now 2-4 Lol, 34 dp 24 and cloudy
-
-
35 now but DP is dropping now at 24 from 32 earlier
-
We just gonna use the the winter obs page for this mess?
-
I think Redsky’s winter of AZZ is the correct term, I guess we have Feb/March yet but it’s hard to look past the trends cold mild wet or cold and southern slider.
-
Ugh 33 dp30 as of 4:30, at this juncture I doubt this is as bad as previously thought, 3-5 down from 5-11 and temps rising to mid and upper 30’s overnight. Then crashing to the mid 20’s by afternoon Sunday.
-
I can see areas that get mostly rain drying up before the freeze really takes hold due to the strong winds forecast, but anyone who gets snow, sleet having real issues

-
Warnings just issued, 5-11" 0.10 Ice We shall see.
-
Im just gonna let this play out, not giving up just yet but yeah expectations are low at this point. I still think the flash freeze we have may be the more intriguing thing to me

So my inch or two Tuesday and Tuesday night is now in jeopardy, it’s sad that I was even looking forward to a meager 2” snow that probably lasts for a week. But I’m waiting patiently for these “interesting times ahead “ I keep hearing about
